Nov 30, 2025 at 4:44 PM Encore has the annoying accents too. But they were for comedic effect. Relapse would have been better received if he only did that for one song. But we made you was just annoying. Waste of an amazing instrumental
Nov 30, 2025 at 5:40 PM we don’t know that yet, but the vinyls ship next month. Will preorder this Christmas
Nov 30, 2025 at 5:40 PM There's no need to apologize. I made it because I don't like the rest of 3 am or that Alchemist beat, that's all.
Nov 30, 2025 at 6:53 PM Definitely they should replace My Mom and Hello and like @ZolaGz said add Music Box for Beautiful since it doesn't fit the rest of the album.
Nov 30, 2025 at 7:34 PM It woulda been even worse for one song. Relapse accents aren't like Encore. Encore lyricism is lazy, the flows are nowhere near. Relapse is so sharp and weird of a style, it all has to be in that tone. Get rid of 'Beautiful' & 'Underground' and you got a classic.
Nov 30, 2025 at 10:40 PM I wouldn't say that Relapse never reaches Encore's lows. Taking My Ball, Insane, etc. You said Encore as a whole though, which seems to me a hard position to defend since Encore's highs are pretty high. Especially considering the best the Encore period (2003-2004) has to offer. Love You More, Canibitch, Spend Some Time etc are still basically prime Eminem.
Dec 1, 2025 at 4:55 AM Eminem is so boring with the hoodie and a hat. What a stupid image for a 53 year old.
Dec 1, 2025 at 4:56 AM Hoodie and a hat is such a stupid look, especially for a 53 year old. Horrible stage presence. He's just a mummy at this point.
Dec 1, 2025 at 5:02 AM I think it’s pretty obvious by now Eminem was sexually abused as a child, most likely by one of Debbie’s boyfriends. There’s too many times he has directly or indirectly referred to it for it to just be a “haha I was touched as kid” joke. We know Kim went through the same thing, and so did her twin sister. That kind of s--- was probably rife around those broke Detroit poverty-stricken areas in the 70s and 80s. I think I’ve made this point before, but Eminem once admitted that somebody putting a kittens head in somebody’s mailbox, which he mentions on “I’m Back” was based on a true story when he was growing up. A lot of the things he talks about are true, and I think he did actually k--- one of his pet dogs as a child too since he mentions it more than once. So the fact getting touched as a kid is brought up on his lyrics more than once pretty much tells me it’s based on something true.
Dec 1, 2025 at 5:12 AM being abused by a stepfather is a classic trope and a serious topic that is natural for Eminem to make fun of. There are plenty of jokes like that in every media. in an interview he said we wanted to say "my own father said that I s----d in the bed" but felt that was too much. But his real father couldn't have touched him as he left too early. If he was really abused, I think he would have flat out said it. The example with the kitten is just one true story out of 1000 made up ones. And the kitten didn't happen to him, so by that logic, he just knew someone who was abused as a kid and appropriated it. What I do find interesting though is how we mocks other people's addictions, even while he was addicted himself. like in Bully, Puke, Warning, and more.
Dec 1, 2025 at 5:38 AM Ugh. You're the antithesis of me as an Em fan. Whether it's good or not, as a standalone song is irrelevant. It was made for a different album and has a completely different style, and it's very noticeable. It'd be like having a TES song on SSLP, like 'Sing for the Moment' coming on after 'I'm Shady' lmao, would sound stupid af.
Dec 1, 2025 at 5:42 AM Agree 'Beautiful' is good, but not on 'Relapse'. Doesn't fit sonically. 'Underground' not so much, but even if I said it was as a standalone song, it doesn't fit Relapse, stylistically; tonally. Sounds out of place. I would guess he made it last minute to end out the album with a 'crazy rap', after tacking 'Beautiful' on because it's the only song he probably thought would be a hit and was like a safety net if people didn't like the new style. Unsurprisingly, he then made 'Recovery' in the vein of 'Beautiful', when people liked it.
