Dec 22, 2025 at 3:51 PM The Flow Peaked in 2004 Everything recorded before, that was Prime… Sike, that was a lie. I just get better with time. Just as Royce Da 5”9 By 2009 he realized why They call Shady the Evil side
Dec 22, 2025 at 5:34 PM Tbh I thought you had it right when you said it sounded like My Ballz (2005?) recently. Canibitch had more verve, recorded as early as late 2002 I suppose. Antichrist strikes me as closer to Valiuminem.
Dec 22, 2025 at 5:46 PM Yes, it's no coincidence that the "da-da-da" in the intro goes seamlessly with the Amityville outro @ 5:00. They're so close that I'd have to conclude Hailie's Song is basically MMLP era.
Dec 22, 2025 at 6:04 PM And in his jealousy and envy it just whirls him in a frenzy As he turns on S80 and sees my face He don't exist in this world, so he just twists and he twirls Spirals and spins, 'til he hurls himself into a rage
Dec 22, 2025 at 6:26 PM Oh yeah you’re probably right. I forgot about that. Going back and listening now Antichrist is deffo deeper lazier voice
Dec 22, 2025 at 6:28 PM Another thing I just recently noticed is that Difficult and Like Toy Soldiers both have the same descending piano chord progressions for the first 4 bars of the melody. Wonder if that was a conscious thing considering the Proof/Toy Soldiers death connection
Dec 22, 2025 at 7:47 PM Actually I think the singing is late 01 or maybe even 02. The voice seems closer to something like Say What You Say, a bit deeper. The verse and "da-da-da" are probably from 2000, with the latter maybe being a remnant from an earlier take of the singing half of the song.
Dec 22, 2025 at 8:46 PM That's true - the way he lines up multis now seems more obvious and like other rappers do, more pedestrian. Back in like 97-02, even after that, but especially then, it was like... less obvious or more surprising phrasing and stretching rhymes without feeling like he was doing that.
Dec 22, 2025 at 9:39 PM It doesn't help either that modern Eminem, more often than not, has the charisma of a wrinkled tablecloth.
