What’s convincing you of that? Sound very similar to his “Stimulate” delivery to me. Plus the vocals sound pretty s-----y, I’d say it was definitely recorded in the “8 mile trailer homemade studio booth”.

Steve King mentions it here when talking about the final version:

I dont get how that quote is saying anything about the demo version. It seems to be saying the final lose yourself was the first take he did.

But the whole story of a forgotten lose yourself version that has an n-sync pun seems off.

I hate how docile you are sometimes. I specifically said in my post “when talking about the final version” and you know what, I knew before I even posted it that you were gonna reply with something along those lines. “ThAts not ThE dEmO vErsIon HeS tAlKinG aBouT”.

My point was, if King is saying the final version was recorded in the trailer, then the demo version can only have been done earlier, which I suspect was also done in the trailer, which places it somewhere between Oct 01-Jan 02. And N-Sync had literally released in album in July of 01. So not sure what you’re tryna say.

You really get on my nerves sometimes Spatch. f---ing keep up.

The way I see the n-sync pun is modern day Eminem wanted to see if he can fool everyone to think its an old song, thereby proving he can still sound like the old him, but couldnt resist making at least one pun, which is what modern day eminem has to do.

But I know I'm reaching. Its just something about the whole "I forgot a lot of things from my drug era" that I cannot buy.

Well that’s just a silly presumption by a silly little poster. Silly Spatula.

Jeff Bass said that Lose Yoursef (the guitar and the piano intro) was originally recorded in the key of C. Steve King moved it all up a key to D. The original version in the key of C is what we hear on the “demo version”.

The “pitched up” version in a higher key, is what we hear on the released studio version. That being said, I’ve changed my mind about the demo being recorded in the 8 Mile trailer. I think it was done before that, maybe mid 2001. I bet that demo version was intended to a possible cut for TES, until he did the 8 mile perspective thing over it instead during the filming period in late 2001.

Jeff Bass said the guitar loop was something they had lying around for quite a while and would pull it up every session and mess with it. He also said it originally had heavy distorted guitars during the chorus, until they decided to get rid of them and get Resto in to add those keyboard stabby things instead.

I do agree with you about the “I forgot because drugs” excuse though. He certainly seems to remember premature ejaculating all over Mariah Carey because her hand brushed his d-ck while they were kissing.

I do have a soft spot for bullies.

Eminem lying throughout his career is something I have a problem with. He lied he was 24 when he was 27 on Howard Stern show. Pneumonia was bologna. Not remembering this and that is a lie.
"I swear to God, I never lie" he said in The Sauce

Couldn’t agree more with that one. It was very very strange how he had to claim to be way younger than he was at first.

Also, it’s been pointed out before, but the way he kept going at Ja for taking ecstasy, when he had been consuming it in huge loads in the years previous to that, and also had his own pill addiction going on at the time. Major projection.

In a 2002 Mojo in the Morning radio interview, he said “I fear no man”, in response to Jenny Watkins claiming one time that they pulled up at his Ems house and he got really scared and paranoid because he saw some dudes and thought Limp Bizkit and Fred Durst had sent goons to k--- him (lmfao).

But he censored Suge Knights name twice, in lyrics that were hardly provocative at all. Then made a h whole diss track at him but kept it tucked away for nobody to ever hear. So he definitely feared big Sugar Bear. The “Dre told me not too!” Was probably just another white lie.

Also, you guys see how clean and tidy the thread pages look when you’re not constantly quoting the post directly above you in every reply? Please take notes.

Can't blame him for fearing Suge. The guy is pure evil. Not worth it. I'm surprised he even recorded Smack You. I guess Suge or his people heard it. Does Suge have a statute of limitation?

Making fun of Ja Rule's addiction is pure projection. I cant remember what exactly but I know there was another fixation of his that resembled that as well where it could be deduced that he is guilty of too. Maybe punching women or something. Speaking of which, its odd how he basically admitted to punching Kim on Bad Husband and nobody cared.

Suge has been doing a few collect call interviews lately so I’m surprised he hasn’t been asked about it. He was going through some sort of obsessive Tupac era during that time (Hail Mary diss, loyal to the game album, mentioning Pac in lyrics, hit em up remix earlier, writing letters to Afeni Shakur, saying Ja tries to be pac) So he probably felt like Tupac for the day whilst recording that.

yeah, there’s obviously the bit about him calling anyone who was over like a year older than him an “old man” (was it everlast he kept calling old and there’s like less than 3 years age difference between them?)

And yes, didn’t he go at Budden for beating women, yet Em himself had admitted numerous times that he has beat up his wife. Bad Husband, When I’m Gone, Love The Way You Lie, Love You More all make references to him being a woman beater.

I don’t think he would have appreciated early Eminems wiggerness and fake blaccent that’s for sure.

Speaking of which, Tupac on Howard Stern would have been a classic

Odd to think when we're talking about 2pac, we are talking about a 25 year old, kid basically. Even rappers in their 50s now speak of 2pac with a sort of humbleness like he is their elder. I wonder what he would have been like today. I assume he would have outgrown all the gangsta crap.

I’ve always been a huge Tupac fan, more so his image, personality, charisma and character than his music, but most of his music was amazing too.

One of those rare people that never had to stop and think about what he was trying to say or got stuck for words, every point he wanted to make just flowed out effortlessly.

Lived everything he talked about, was overly loyal to many people who didn’t show him the same loyalty. Although I do believe he actually did s---t himslef in the balls at Quad studios in 1994, and his 5 “bullet wounds” were from the same bullet. (His balls, his leg, his finger and his stomach, plus pistol whipping to the head) even though he was adamant throughout his life that he had been “shot 5 times”

He definitely was heading in a bigger direction. Probably towards being some sort of political figure, also had a huge acting career blooming, especially if he had gotten the Mace Windu role.

Just a shame he got so caught up with Sugar Bear and the Bloods, making that silly decision to punch Baby Lane which eventually got him killed. Although I can’t blame him for longing to have a group of real gangster friends considering all the people that had snaked him up until he went to jail, and with having eventual revenge against Haitian Jack and Jimmy Henchman constantly on his mind.
