Jan 20, 2026 at 11:53 AM Used to think side b was alright but yikes that s--- is dumpster juice. It's got 3 or 4 okay tracks... side A >>>
Jan 20, 2026 at 12:58 PM The needing to tap in to his old personality that @Big Monkey mentioned is correct, and here’s a great example why: I’ve linked the video from 28:50, where he talks about how he crafts his songs in 2002. (I suggest people also watch the full thing if they haven’t, great insight into the TES era with interviews and footage edited together). He says once he has an idea for a song he needs to do it himself. He can’t just be sent a beat over and then wrote to it (although he had done this with Dre a couple times, but he’s the special exception) He also says the day his music doesn’t get better, he doesn’t wanna rap or make music anymore. It’s philosophies like this which made Prime-Inem who he was. Ones that he also abandoned further down the line in his career. I don’t think he’s capable of creating an album even close to the first 3. I think it’s d--- near impossible at this point. He’s never been close in the 17 years since coming back. I think the first thing he needs to sort out is literally what he talks about there, which is just getting random beats from people and making songs over them. He needs a collective of studio musicians right from beginning of the album all the way to the end, and he needs to sit with them at the start and say “this is the album I’m gonna make, this is the theme, and this is what I’m gonna talk about” and then start the process with that in mind. Similar to what prime Kanye would do. He also needs to start letting go of the technicality aspect of rapping. It’s worn out. I’ve really never understood why he always ges to these great lengths to do “the old him” like dying his hair, using old references, the AI filter, when all he literally has to do is slow the flow down and flow smoother, and he’s never done that. And it baffles me why I hasn’t even tried. The vocal mixing is also still a huge problem. Way over compressed. That bridge in Habits to me sounds horrible. The Animal and Fuel verses aren’t exactly crisp. A fresh, new mixing Engineer replacing Mike Strange (who could be left to recording suited only, which is what he used to do before King left) could be a God send. But of course he wouldn’t do that because the angry old man is comfortably stuck in his ways. He’s too far gone now to ever tap into what he once was. He’s pretty much the exact definition of what one would call a has-been. And there’s no coming back from that.
Jan 20, 2026 at 1:14 PM Bro tried to sneak in “taking my ball” and thought we wouldn’t notice *Crying MSN Emoji*
Jan 20, 2026 at 1:15 PM i hoped you’d notice… that beat is amazing. also saying crying msn emoji is definitely one of your more annoying HABITS
Jan 20, 2026 at 1:32 PM I have to say it. My smiley list looks like this: A lot of your posts specifically are just filled with these huge purple squares. Typing it the way I do is the best way for me to get it across.
Jan 20, 2026 at 1:34 PM It’s terrible. That melody loop gets really annoying really fast. Reminds me of Bagpipes… which is equally awful.
Jan 20, 2026 at 1:54 PM Sounds better. He’s more relaxed, better hooks, better songs,… I don’t hate Side A, but B is for bangers
Jan 20, 2026 at 1:57 PM Strongly disagree. It's mostly throwaway songs that should never have been released.
Jan 20, 2026 at 1:58 PM lol Side A has some mid that should have stayed in the studio just like MMLP2 or even Kamikaze
Jan 20, 2026 at 1:59 PM I think he tried to do just that in "Bad One", and it fell flatter than Quarry's a---. More than anything else it really does boil down to the personality problem. It's just sorrowfully lacking the vast majority of the time now. As an example of what I consider a step in the right direction, as I've said before I think "b---" may be the most Eminem-sounding verse since The Warning. I can hear genuine the disgust in his voice during the "here a mic, there a mic" part. It's at least remotely reminiscent of the first verse of Marshall Mathers in that way. Super refreshing.
Jan 20, 2026 at 2:01 PM I mean… Guns Blazing Book Of Rhymes Zeus Favorite b---- Gnat These Demons Killer Discombobulated Black Magic
Jan 20, 2026 at 2:02 PM It does I agree. But it's been 2 decades since Eminem has had an album with zero skips. MMLP and that even has Kim which has no replay value. TES has 2 or 3 skips.
