Jan 30, 2026 at 8:05 PM i love that story. and there’s a billion stories out there like that of eminem being there when people were at their lowest, when nobody else was there, to lift them out of what ever was happening to them, and transport them to a whole other place. it’s almost like magic That's why we sing for these kids who don't have a thing Except for a dream and a f---in' rap magazine Who post pin-up pictures on they walls all day long Idolize they favorite rappers and know all they songs Or for anyone who's ever been through s--- in they lives So they sit and they cry at night, wishin' they'd die 'Til they throw on a rap record, and they sit and they vibe We're nothin' to you, but we're the f---in' s--- in they eyes That's why we seize the moment, try to freeze it and own it Squeeze it and hold it 'cause we consider these minutes golden And maybe they'll admit it when we're gone Just let our spirits live on Through our lyrics that you hear in our songs, and we can…
Jan 30, 2026 at 8:05 PM untouchable is so weird. i love how it plays sonically, because i love experimental sounds, but the lyrics kinda miss the mark for me. like the delivery is great, the rhyming is great, it’s just what he’s saying is so… im not even sure how to describe it. i hate to call him out of touch, but im not sure what else to call it. love that hook though
Jan 30, 2026 at 8:14 PM I love those stories too man!! I followed Em from the very beginning and was always a huge fan. I got sober from alcohol in March of 2008, Em got sober the very next month, the first few years was kinda trying to learn how to live again without my crutch. When relapse came out in 09 it was cool for what it was, I was just glad he was back but when he released Not Afraid in 2010 along with Recovery..man that album just hit for me!! My favorite artist putting his emotions out there just as I was learning to do the same. It's powerful stuff man!!
Jan 30, 2026 at 8:22 PM i didn’t know what to think of relapse. i was just so surprised and happy he was rapping again and with so much energy and creativity. he said he was obsessed with watching serial killer documentaries at brighton and that that’s what inspired the concept for relapse starting with the i’m having a relapse freestyle, he even begins it by sampling a documentary on hh holmes. looking back it’s kinda peculiar but i think he felt that it fit what he was feeling about wanting to k--- the whole game for what he felt was abandoning or neglecting him. and he certainly recaptured his agency by the time recovery rolled around, but 2008-2009 was a crazy era. combine that with the accents he felt were helping him to rhyme more easily (after needing to relearn how to do it) and it’s just a very unique and very strange album. idk if anyone noticed this but he dropped the use of multis down significantly from 5-8 on relapse to 2-4 on recovery, and i think that helped him normalize before going super technical again on mmlp2. i just wish he maintained that trajectory instead of what ever the h--- happened between southpaw and revival
Jan 30, 2026 at 9:28 PM It’s a sick world we live in these days. Slim, For Petesakes put down Christopher Reeves Legs
Jan 30, 2026 at 11:22 PM idk if it means anythin but this is the girl who did the balenciaga baby bondage photoshoot who posted the photo with em at interscope later claiming her dad worked there
Jan 31, 2026 at 12:36 AM Jay Z too smh. You never catch 50's name in any of the weird s---. The real King Of New York!!!
Jan 31, 2026 at 1:02 AM Some of the files have to fake cos Jay Z in 1996 hanging with Weinstein is an absolute longshot. Jay was very miniscule in terms of appeal/fame. Why would a giant like Harvey Weinstein be hanging with a low tier celeb like Jay.
Jan 31, 2026 at 1:23 AM i mean rd dropped in june of 96 and he was already famous enough to feature biggie
Jan 31, 2026 at 1:35 AM I wouldn’t put too much thought into responding to anything Nick says. His reading comprehension is awful. He just had to edit his post because he had a whole second paragraph about how Pusha T wasn’t “known” in 1996 either, even though that’s not what the paper insinuates. What a r-----.
Jan 31, 2026 at 1:50 AM i think part of it is that people in general are hesitant to accept that someone they might admire is not only human, but also capable of deviant behavior. even i’m telling myself i hope the stuff about em is fake, even though it’s plain as day that the MO matches all the other victims perfectly. it’s like shock/denial. i think that’s natural and i think a lot of people are experiencing that seeing these new files, not just about rappers but about gates clinton etc, anyone they might idolize. i don’t think there’s any better example of this than mj stans. he set the bar pretty f---in high as far as needing to separate the art from the artist lol
