If you want, I could hold off the tallying until you submit your reviews in. They're always pretty insightful, and I'm sure that most members would be fine with waiting a bit for them.

That’d be nice, as long as it is not disrupting anything on your end. If it ever becomes a problem just let me know.

I wanna get this review out of the way before I listen to the new Joji album and the new J. Fold album so here we go

@Yeez AKA Yeezington AKA Yeezinator AKA Mac n Yeez - Intermission

Favorites: Gangland, LIARA, True Faith, Locals (Girls like us), either on or off the drugs, I’m Glad You’re Mine, Wait, Hacker

    RIPPER ROO’S RATING: 10/10!!!!

This tape has b-----r after b-----r. It starts with “Into The Void” which not only is a great opener but the title of the track itself really sets this tape up. Then we basically have back to back Griselda cuts that take us further into the void with dirty production and dirtier lyricism. After that we move on to one of my favorite tracks here “Gangland” by Future. This song goes unbelievably hard and s--- like this is why Future is one of my GOATs.

“The Order of Death” is a nice intermission track to get us through this tape called Intermission. It gets us to a Devon Hendryx track. For those who don’t know, that’s JPEGMAFIA. Such a vibey track, he’s so good at creating an atmosphere. I could drive to this song, I could sleep to this song, I could meditate to this song.

We move on to “True Faith” which honestly might be the best song on the whole tape. It’s the first song that really got me moving, it basically forced me to dance. I couldn’t help it. “s---” is a heavily intense track to follow that up. We get to “Locals” and “either on or off the drugs” which might be the best back to back section of the tape. Both these songs are super unique, vibey, and complement each other well. It’s so dope Yeez had an underscores song on here. And this jpegmafia song makes me feel so hopeful.

“Success” by Iggy Pop continues that hopeful theme jpegmafia provided. “Fragments of Time” does as well I suppose. “I’m Glad You’re Mine” is so soulful, definitely one of my favs here. “Wait” was catchy to me and another fav. It’s awesome to have “Hacker” by Death Grips on here. I appreciate the experimental s--- and it matches well with other experimental songs on this tape. They are pretty influential today. “Uncut Gems” is such a cinematic, beautiful way to end the tape and it really takes you on a journey before kicking you out of the void you entered in track 1.

Overall, I liked every song on this tape and had no complaints. There’s lots of experimentation on here that I enjoy as well as more conventional tracks that just hit really hard and are catchy. All the artists on here have a lot of skill and that really shines through the music. Yeez put this tape together really well and it might be his best yet. @AOTWClub

I haven’t had the chance to review the MM tape. Also, you guys aren’t making it easy with no Youtube link :emoji_weary: that’s the only downside with these mixtapes. I’ll post my thoughts when I can.

    @Michael Myers - A Late Night Drive

    review

Didn’t know what to expect coming into this one, I usually associate late night drives with gloomier, slower songs but the tracklist immediately showed me that not everyone agrees with this.

First track, Hearbeat was fun melody wise but felt a bit like your usual formulaic pop pick. Not saying this to take away anything from it but I wasn’t too wow’d by anything on here.

Luckily, All My Friends was f---ing killer all around and is easily one of my favorite tracks on this MM tape. Great catchy hook, earcandy instrumental with sparkly production topped off with a great Chance verse. 10/10.

I’m a sucker for The Killers and this track kept that appreciation going stronger than ever. Shot At The Night is a great tune, it is so easy to listen to and really does a great job of walking the line between mainstream pop and something more complex. Loved the vocals and the synths on here especially.

Never heard of Bliss n Eso before and being exposed to the line ‘my bible’s a rifle’ made me wanna keep it that way. Nah, seriously, some of the flows on here are cool but I found the beat and the hook so grating to listen to. s--- sounds like they sampled some old popcap game and not in a good way.

Blue Moon was aight but I wasn’t that captivated by the track. Nothing too memorable sadly.

I liked the Timbaland x Drake track quite a bit. The song is smooth as f---, well produced, and both of these guys’ definitely show up with great verses. Drake a weirdo but he had a pretty sick run during this era. Love the sampled loop on this one, s--- is so beefy lol.

I like Carly quite a bit honestly. She’s such a loveable artist imo, not many nits to be picked in her discography. I found the transition from Say Something into this song very nice too; the instrumentals really do work as a pair. Killer song all around, it is so infectiously fun.

Backpack had the potential to be really cool but it’s as if this song refused to play to its strengths. Cut the annoyingly stupid alien voice out and get Wayne to write a longer verse and maybe, just maybe, it’ll be worth listening to. The f---ing song pissed me off.

A weird, unexpected yet welcome transition into Eagles’ Life In The Fast Lane. Never thought I’d say this but Eagles were a breath of fresh air to break up the pacing on here. A fun, replayable cut for sure.

Enjoyed Rewind quite a lot. Blxst has a great voice and floats all over the fun, bouncy beat. I love the f--- out of this hook too. Feid and Becky G sounded pretty good on here too.

BAM BAM BACLAVA let’s f---ing go its the Albanian legend Bronsolino. I love Action Bronson to bits, hearing this song again was absolutely amazing. This f---er has one of the most entertaining rapping styles in the game. Really a one of a kind artist, hearing him spit will always make me hype. Go watch his youtube show, y’all.

Usually not too big on RHCP but Soul To Squeeze was pretty great. Seriously, inject this bassline into my veins. Love hearing a low-key track from them, it is such a satisfying listen whenever they play to their strengths. Maybe this track is the start of their music finally clicking with me?

Nights Like This was pretty d--- great too. Some really buttery melodies on this song. Kehlani’s vocals are pretty f---ing beautiful too, I love how her voice meshes with Ty$’s. The production is ethereal yet modern, makes for a real smooth listen. Loved this.

Always love hearing Ozzy and Hellraiser being on here is no exception, it is a legendary song. I’ll say, though, that this placement felt random af. This track, pacing wise, sees Ozzy showing up to the tracklist, slapping Bebe Rexha, elbowing Bieber, and then spitting on Kehlani. It really did raise h---.

I never want to hear Khaled’s adlib on a beat as classic as this. We do NOT need ANOTHA ON all over miss jackson. That aside, SZA killed it. Wish she did this song on her own lol.

A classic Kanye track to wrap the mix up. 808s is one of my favorite Ye releases so hearing Street Lights on here was pretty dope. This song is gorgeous, I really like it as a closing track. God why did we have to go from artist Ye to autist Ye. It is so unfair.

To sum everything up, I’d say that this was a sort of weird mix of songs. MM gives you a bit of everything on this playlist. You get the run of the mill pop songs that might not intrigue you that much, random rock inclusions that show up out of nowhere and go hard as h---, and everything else (rap and rnb that is either the cheesiest or the greatest s--- you can be exposing yourself to at the moment). There are some truly great moments on this thing but also some that really did not click with me. Still, the highs were truly high and the lows weren’t really offensively low. I’ve decided to rate A Late Night Drive a

    6.5/10
