    @Yeez @AOTWClub

    Yeez - Intermission

    Always love the Yeez tapes so excited to get into this one!

    Basically anything from the first like 6 Black Sabbath albums is a cheat code, good opener for the tone of the tape. Love the guitar work, they were so good at making things sound huge and deceptively simple at the same time.

    Sovren went crazy on h--- On Earth, Pt. 2. I need to listen to more Griselda, this song is great, i have the hot take of liking Westsides voice and stupid a--- adlibs the most of the brothers lol. They all did great but Bennys verse is probably my favorite.

    Basically everything I said about last song is applicable to Beloved, Mach Hommy is another person i need to listen to more of. In direct comparison i like h--- On Earth more but this song is super solid as well. Ive kinda been in the mood for grimier music in general so this little run scratched an itch for me.

    Future has been hit or miss from all I've heard from him but this song is dope, I've realized a lot of my enjoyment depends on what flow he chooses and Gangland is good example of him killing it in that department. Really loving all the production on this tape so far.

    Public Image Ltd sounds vaguely familiar, idk if i ever heard a song from them but ive been meaning to get more into post punk but from the little i read about them The Order Of Death seems to be when they started making more New Wave music, which is very apparent. Love the vibe of this one, very laid back and does the surprising feat of having mostly just a repeating phrase not get boring. Really enjoyed this!

    I was not expecting a song from the Devon Hendryx era at all but Liara is great, I know Jpeg is iffy for some people and even though i think hes super annoying and wishy washy as a person i always enjoy checking his work out. Love the hazy beat and vocal production on this.

    True Faith is f---ing great, all the Yeez tapes always remind me how many bands I've yet to do a deep dive on and New Order is no different. One of my favorites on the tape so far. Such a well written song about drug abuse while simultaneously just being a great sounding song to jam out to. "My morning sun is the drug that brings me near, to the childhood i lost, replaced by fear" is such a good lyric.

    s--- was an interesting NIN choice that i really appreciate, Trent really knows how to compose and structure a song man. I love how weird and funky the instrumental is before it gets into the huge fully industrial sound for the hook, great juxtaposition while staying cohesive.

    h--- YEAH BABY LOCALS OWNS. April is super talented and I'm so excited to see where she goes next. If anyone is interested the Underscores single "Music" is f---ing incredible and y'all should listen. I dont have much to say about this song other than its great cause I'm already familiar. Gabby does great too. Hook is so good

    either on or off the drugs is one of Peggys most accessible songs but that isn't a negative, some of the most focused hes sounded between lyrics and production. The guitars and sample is perfect. Love his flows here, I really enjoyed this project when it dropped i need to revist it!

    Going from that to an Iggy Pop song is wild but it works, I've never listened to Success but I have a soft spot for the little Iggy ive heard so i really enjoyed this. Cool to see hes still out doing s--- nowadays too, Punkrocker getting big cause of Superman and seeing younger people find out about Iggy was fun. Pioneer of punk that deserves all his flowers.

    Fragments of Time is so gas, genuinely perfect song. Just gorgeous and smooth in a timeless way. One of those song you can just have on repeat. 10/10

    Al Green is another example of just being capable of making perfect music, I'm Glad You're Mine is great. 70s soul is undefeated in pumping out essential listening. Makes 3mins feel like 30secs.

    Wait by Wang Chung means we're getting back into the New Wave bag that Yeez is so good at choosing songs from and this is no different. Great song, and something about the way these old New Wave songs are produced is so satisfying to listen to.
    Overall love the smoothness of this tape with songs like this but even the more abrasive songs have a funkyness to them.

    Saying what I just said and immediately going into a Death Grips song is f---ing hilarious but Hacker is great. MC Ride has such a crazy voice, so interested to see how they attack their new project. Theres a layer of anxiety to their tracks that can definitely be a turn off to a lot of people but there's so much to enjoy here imo.

    Speaking of layers of anxiety, something the Safdie brothers perfect with their work. Theres a beauty in the Uncut Gems soundtrack (The Oneohtrix Point Never soundtrack for Good Time is also incredible btw) where some tracks like this one are very gorgeous and calming. Daniel Lopatin really killed it with this. Great closer to a great tape.

    Overall a basically perfect tape as per usual from Yeez, really good little concept to the creation of it as well that fits perfectly.

    Really enjoyed all the songs but if i were to choose

    Favorite Songs: Into The Void, h--- On Earth Pt 2., The Order Of Death, True Faith, Locals, either on or off the drugs, Fragments of Time, I'm Glad You're Mine, Uncut Gems.

    Quick Updates:

    Welcome back @Allis Mines !! You've been added to the schedule

    A bit conflicted on tallying up LND. The minimum number was 6 reviews, and only 5 are in, so I don't know whether to just count since it's been over 2 weeks. Similar issue is resent with Intermission.

    @BIGFOOT you're up this week
