Mar 8, 2026 at 5:21 PM If you look at his major output, so, discounting Infinite - and if you count MTBMB as one... 1. SSLP - classic 2. MMLP - masterpiece 3. TES - classic 4. Encore - ehhh 5. Relapse - near-classic 6. Recovery - great 7. MMLP2 - decent 8. Revival - worst album ever made 9. Kamikaze - great 10. MTBMB - great 11. TDOSS - decent 12. ?... Incoming trash!? It's like he can't go more than 3 albums without a major misfire then needing course-correction from feedback. But, I kinda don't mind even if that does happen because he feels a bit predictable right now. I would rather be surprised with something bad but interesting than placated with something decent but same-same or as expected/similar to recent s---; in style and content. What do you think? And what would you rahter - decent but predictable, or trash but 'wtf is this' and surprising? Ideally of course - 'wtf is this/surprising and great' but that's a hard ask at this point.
Mar 8, 2026 at 5:22 PM Encore was ok, just underwhelming. Legit revival is the only a--- album I feel.
Mar 8, 2026 at 5:46 PM Haha. This upcoming album is gonna be a certified instant classic on the level of MMLP. Trust me
Mar 8, 2026 at 7:38 PM Where’s Infinite fall into this twisted little formula? I’m obviously no longer a fan, but I’ll play anyway. I predict AI revisionist old stuff, little new writing, and zero original inspiration.
Mar 8, 2026 at 7:46 PM My mistake, I completely missed the first line! Sorry about that. But why, for curiosity’s sake, discount Infinite?
Mar 8, 2026 at 8:00 PM Probably since it’s not a studio album and wasn’t signed to a major label yet. Independent record.
Mar 8, 2026 at 8:25 PM We're about due another complete bed-shitter. Bonus points if he re-emerges looking weird.
Mar 9, 2026 at 12:00 AM Because that's my theory. He didn't have public scrutiny / feedback with Infinite. He had some but not on that scale. Plus it's not that serious. I'm not seriously suggesting there's some mystical meaning to 'every 4th album' it's just a random pattern you could induce (and a silly post) - if you look at his major albums. The bigger point probably being 'every few albums or so' he seems to have a major mishap and then course-correct. Which isn't that typical; plenty of artists are consistently s---, or consistently great, or consistently mediocre. But he seems to have this pattern. And also, a theory sort of by definition - invokes some information and ignores other, otherwise you may as well just say 'given all information all the time, about everything, ever' and in which case it becomes hard to form stories, theories, ideas. Because everything just = everything. Cookie.
