Mar 22, 2026 at 11:33 PM I wanted to pick something that not everyone would like, and I didn’t want to pick another Paris Texas project, but then I thought on it some more and decided I’d pick Paris Texas again anyways. If this is any way against the rules I’ll do a different album, but this is actually technically two EPs, but they were released one week apart from each other, and have the same theming. I can only assume they split it into two EPs instead of one album to be silly. Both EPs add up to still be less time than one actual album, around 45 minutes I think. This week I will be forcing everyone to listen to They Left Me With The Sword, and They Left Me With A Gun (in that order) by Paris Texas. I’d recommend taking a break between EPs, but you can just listen to both in one sitting if you’d like. Baby Keem and Kenny Mason fans will feel at home here I think.

Mar 22, 2026 at 11:44 PM I can redeem my score from summer 2024 when you picked MID AIR I saw the light with them shortly after and regret the score I gave
Mar 22, 2026 at 11:49 PM Every single time they release an album I don’t like it first listen then it slowly grows on me and becomes one of my favorites

Mar 24, 2026 at 11:23 AM Paris Texas - They Left Me With the Sword + They Left Me With a Gun Another pretty interesting pick from @lowkitz , and a pretty special one at that! I've discovered some pretty great albums through this thread (Some notable examples are When the Smoke Clears... and Different Class), and MID AIR has been one of my favorites. I really loved the energy throughout the record, and it's probably in my top 10 of all the records we've done. I haven't really kept up with any of the duo's work since, so this was a welcome pick. I think this is the first time that we've done a "two-pack", so I was initially a bit divided on scoring the EP's separately or together, but I ultimately decided to give them each a score, with a final definitive score for both. They Left Me With the Sword "Dogma 95" was a pretty good hype intro, and I like the change in energy with "Red Eyes & Blue Hearts". "Tantrum" was pretty d--- hype too. After a quick interlude, we get another b-----r in the form of "Holy Spinal Fluid". "infinyte" and "El Camino" close the EP off pretty well. I think this is stellar. I loved every single song, and I have absolutely no complaints. The only "issue" I have is going to be elaborated on in the final summary, so I'll end this part here. EP Score: 9/10 They Left Me With a Gun "Superstar" is a great start right off the beat, and I honestly might prefer it over "Dogma 95". That hook is killer. "Twin Geeker" was good, but it's probably my least favorite song on both EP"s. "Stripper Song" and "Mudbone" are great. "H A L O" was awesome, and "No Strings" was a pretty good closer. I think this tape was pretty good, with some great high points like "Superstar" and "H A L O", but as a whole, I think it's weaker than the first. EP Score: 7.5/10 Full Summary Similar to my experience with MID AIR, I had a great time with these two EP's. Although I haven't heard much, I've always liked the new Rap Rock albums that have come out recentyl (s/o Joey Valence and Brae!), and Paris Texas are awesome. My only real issue with these tapes has to be their length. As great as some of these songs are, I feel like they could've been even better if they were fleshed out more. I think that the second EP could've definitely used some more time to breathe. As a whole though, I had a great time with this these two projects, and big, BIG thanks to @lowkitz for the pick. FAVORITES: Red Eyes and Blue Hearts, Tantrum, Holy Spinal Fluid, El Camino, H A L O SCORE: 8/10 @AOTWClub @Justin Trudeau
