Honestly this album just makes me deeply sad. I don’t talk about my Kanye fandom much on here but my childhood was defined by Kanye and Eminem. Kanye’s music shaped who I am today, and I would still argue that Kanye is the most talented and important hip hop musician of all time, or was. It is so unbelievably depressing to watch him spiral and degrade so quickly from that Kanye, to whatever he is now. A lot of people don’t like Donda, but Donda was a complete and coherent album, and I really like it (the only thing that drives me bonkers about Donda is the censorship, like why even let your featured artists curse in their verses if you’re gonna censor it, just telll them not to it’s so annoying.) It is crazy to see how fast his mental state and ability to create music, and the hype he had as a public figure and artist went off the cliff between Aug 2021 to now. He was selling out stadiums to do a listening party of Donda, and now most people I’ve talked to dont care that he’s dropped, aren’t aware that he’s dropped, or refuse to listen to him over the stuff he’s said during his time off his medication.

I also meant to add to this that even though I feel like Eminem’s recent output obviously isn’t as good as what he used to make, it hits different because we can clown on Eminem in good spirit like “oh man Eminem that bar is so corny! Why are you rapping so fast!” And it’s not “Oh Eminem is off his medication and is having a mental health spiral while abusing nitrous and praising Hitler and saying he’s a cuck and talking about how he gave a blo-jo- to his cousin when they were boys and you can hear his brain deteriorate in real time as he puts more slop out.” So depressing man

Joey P usually needs a little time to work out what the general consensus is on something so he can always give the contrasting opinion.

It was hilarious watching him not know what to do when Doss dropped because half the opinions were “this is great” and the other half were “this is pretty bad”. He didn’t know wether to pretend it was a classic or pretend it was the worst thing ever.
