Mar 30, 2026 at 10:32 PM @AOTWClub Lloyd Banks - The Hunger for More Review: An old classic I hadn’t revisited in years. Listening again reminded me just how many of Banks most recognizable tracks are on this album. While “Warrior” is great, “Warrior Pt. 2” easily outshines it. “I’m So Fly” and “On Fire” still stand out as some of the strongest cuts, with “Karma” and “Till the End” right up there as well. Banks remains one of the more underrated artists in his lane. If anything has held him back, it’s a tendency toward a more monotonous sound, which I feel can make his music harder to sit through in long stretches. Still, his catalog runs deep. Especially when it comes to mixtapes, he has a bunch of bangers. His more recent run with COTI has been strong too, though it probably would’ve reached a wider audience with more polished, higher budget production. Sadly the G-Unit era and those kinds of budgets are long gone. The Hunger for More is a memorable album and easily one of the most recognizable releases both from that era and the G-Unit catalog as a whole. It’s definitely a must listen if you’re diving into Banks discography. 8.5 /10

Mar 31, 2026 at 5:45 PM @AOTWClub Jay-Z - American Gangster Review: I’d skimmed through this album before, but this was the first time I actually sat down and gave it a proper listen and it ended up being much better than I expected. I understand why people say Jay-Z is overrated, and to an extent I agree, but he’s still a solid rapper. Personally, I’d take his music over a lot of modern trap any day. I don’t have a ton of detailed thoughts on each track, but overall I really enjoyed the project. There aren’t many weak spots. Hello Brooklyn 2.0 is probably the only song I really didn’t like, since it comes off like a more annoying, worse version of A Milli. What I do appreciate is the concept, inspired by the film. Overall, this was a very solid album that I liked a lot. Favorite songs: Pray, No Hook, Roc Boys, Ignorant s---, Fallin 8.5/10
