what ruins a hip hop song for you?

    i will sound weird but, i f---in hate whenever i hear someone end a line with "hood"...cuz i KNOW he will follow it up with the same old bs rhymes ..yes ending any line with hood piss me off then follow up with good should would wood ugh

    also i hate pauses

    what about you n----s?..i know @M Solo dont accept body fluids mentioned in songs

    When you have an amazing song, but then there is a joke that is so bad you only remember that song for the terrible joke

    Too many things, but it's mainly the voice for me, a rapper has to have an appealing voice/delivery or else I can't f--- with the song or the artist, even if they have decent lyrics.

    Mediocre instrumentals really mess up my listening experience. I think it's important that both elements of rhyming & production combine to benefit the song.

    This technically isn't a hip-hop song, but it has a Kanye verse. The song was amazing to me.... The beat, the hook, verses, everything. And then Kanye came on, and I was like "Alright, he is adding a lot to the song." But then he finished his verse with "I couldn't get my s--- out anyway, I hope you die Aria!" :lawd:

    Ruining the tone. Don't put a corny line in a serious song (J Cole is great at this), k--- all the momentum in a party song (Believe Me slows to a stop), have a feature that misses the point of the song (Twista on Cocoa Butter Kisses) etc. I don't necessarily hate any of these songs/artists but it still irks me.

    I was actually going to include that as an example lol. @DCG
