It's crazy to think that Drake, K Dot, and Cole have NO songs together, as in all three on one track.
Whenever I hear Poetic Justice, I can always hear Cole on it too, would of been nice man with those 3 on there

    :wow5:

gotta respect kendrick for using his platform to send a message. Theres zero songs on this album made for the radio, but the message in the album is strong :mjcry: And that interview with tupac is hauntingly special

@Lockness You don't think Cole had any influence on Kenny? or visa versa?

I think they both have talks and play off each other. ... I think Cole made FHD like a story just like GKMC was...

and I think Kenny listens to Cole as a big bro... and the whole no g--- thing and sending a message is something Cole said they talked about?:manny:

that love yourz explanation is pretty scary.. he might stop getting as competitive and as hungry to become better and go for that number one spot.. that's kind of what he's saying

Not what he's saying. He obviously wants to be the best but not at the sacrifice of the truly important things in life.

Y'all keep mistinterpreting this. A lot of y'all said this after the Complex interview too but I don't think you understanding what he truly means.
@Grandpa Simba summed it up perfectly.

Being looked as "the hottest in the game" or getting acclaim or being praised as the best is not more important than true happiness, which comes from loving the seemingly "simple things" such as family, being grateful for what you have etc. He's not saying he doesn't want to be the best/doesn't think he's the best cause if you listen to FHD he calls himself the greatest/best multiple times. But being the best is not more important than happiness.

I can relate on a much smaller scale tbh. Coming into college as a pre-med student, you're basically told that your grades are all that matter and that slowly turns into a way of judging your self worth. Thats all I cared about for the longest time, and when my grades dropped, it messed me up, then I came back strong but even after that there was emptiness and I wasn't fulfilled. Good grades are important to me don't get me wrong but my happiness is not and should not be based on my school performance, or any of these suffocating societal standards. All these accolades/acclaim mean nothing compared to your true happiness which comes from love and appreciation and thats the point Cole's trying to make.
