    I can't take it anymore. "u" is :wow5:

I've always wondered why Kendrick was so depressed.

I first began to take notice of this back in early 2014 when I quickly meet him at the iheartradio awards, moments before the start of his performance. If you look at the video, he comes out of the crowd. So during this time Kendrick is surrounded by fans (hiding him from the camera and audience), and I noticed he felt super uncomfortable being around so many people. It was awkward really. He looked so anxious. Nonetheless, he was still really cool talking to some fans. It's funny because everyone was actually asking him about his next album, which is now TPAB.

Anyways, I swear I went home that day, and I told my girlfriend that I thought Kendrick was fighting depression. I always knew he may be suffering from traumatic past experiences, but I didn't know it was this bad though. The dude was contemplating suicide :mjcry:

After the release of "i" later in the year, it was all coming together. Everyone was talking about the song, but I felt like nobody was talking about the real issue. Kendrick is fighting depression. I was hoping I would get to learn more about this issue in his upcoming album, and sure enough, here we are...

"u" is a great song. I admire and respect Kendrick so much. He is an inspiration and role model to people all around the world. The man has done stupid s--- in the past, but he is the complete opposite today. He is a genuine, humble person who makes amazing music.

I know I'm stanning so hard right now so i'll finally shut up. :sad1:

He said before that he had planned out GKMC years in advance. I wouldn't be surprised if he had this concept for years too.

    My thoughts exactly. :emoji_thumbsup:

And yea Brokencyde f---in sucks. I saw them in concert once as an opening act and it was just a bunch of idiots yelling with black lights in the background.

While the rest of S80 is buzzing over Kendrick good old Arch Dogg is just waiting for that new Hollywood Undead album like... :work:

Same. I thought he'd at least go gold. I think the surprise release f----- it up since they couldn't get the physical copies out at the same time and all the iTunes glitches.

The physical copies are available though. I've seen a lot of pics the day of the release with people with physical copies.

So I read into it further..

"SoundScan and Billboard will count 1,500 song streams from services like Spotify, Beats Music, Rdio, Rhapsody and Google Play as equivalent to an album sale."
    Source: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/20/b...he-charts-will-count-streaming-services-.html

"The new methodology will count 1500 streams of a song from an album as one sale of the album. They will also count digital downloads of 10 tracks from an album as the equivalent of an album sale itself."
    Source: http://www.techtimes.com/articles/2...ay-beats-rdio-and-rhapsody-in-album-chart.htm

I couldn't conclude whether this means that 1,500 of a single song constitutes as a sale (which the articles make it sound like), in which case we have 9.8m (second day stream plays), 16 (amount of songs on the album) and 1,500 (the number to be divided by). Right.. 9.8m * 16 / 1,500 for example gives us 104,533. Okay..so this definitely isn't correct. But as you said Drake had 23.8m streams first week (which should have resulted in 15k sales, again as you said), but according to Wikipedia and news articles Drake's mixtape received 40,000 "streaming credits". I think it's too vague, but I see (at least I think) that they're only counting Spotify on the streams (the 23.8m record) whereas billboard claims it takes in (as the article above says) Google Play, Beats Music, Rdio, etc.

Would love for other people to weigh in if they have more of an idea on how this system works.

Would assume that 1500 song streams means 1500 streams of individual songs = 1 album sale. Makes sense I guess.

23.8m streams would only come out to be 15.8k in streaming credits. Not sure how he could of pulled off 24.2k from Beats Music, Google Play, etc.

    what .

Considering people are having trouble finding this album in stores, in addition to the wonky released date, makes the expected sales understandable.
