    i think a thread like this was made 2 months ago or something...but now that Kendrick dropped best album of the decade...who do you think will be the rap king by end of this year? its obviously between drake and kendrick

    i think both of them are great...but kendrick music stays with me..makes me think...go back to it...nothing wrong with drake style..i just enjoy kendrick more..and i feel he gets more respect within his peers

    thoughts ?

    If they can get a decent radio single or two out of tpab i think he might just have a shot at drake in the mainstream considering how well the album is doing

    As for the hip hop scene it will probably be just as divided as always since tpab is clearly not sinking in for a decent amount of listeners

    In the overall music scene kendrick will generally be considered better i think

    Kendrick can't touch his mainstream success with his album and nobody ever got laid off of Blacker the Berry or King Kunta

    There's a lot of people disliking the album from what i see (though i do see more people loving it) im not basing this off of the itunes or metacritic ratings though, im more looking at the hip hop community, especially forums....
    The sound of tpab is too complex and different for your average hip hop listener....

    Drake's style and most of his content just doesn't appeal to me. Kendrick by miles.

    Public reaction to TPAB was a bit less well-received than his previous work but it's too many factors to include why they possibly didn't like the album, I'd attribute it more to attention seeking if anything. Even still there is a more bigger majority of people that liked it and it's critical reception and hopefully will have a ton of units sold...Voted for Kendrick here even though I thoroughly enjoy both.

    Kendrick dropped a great album, but he's about 4 weeks away from disappearing for 2 years.

    Drake will drop 2 great projects by the year's end.

    I haven't listened to Drake's IYRTITL in weeks. PND stole that whole mixtape with the interlude he did.

    Kendrick is winning right now for sure, but we'll see what happens when Views From The 6 comes out.
