that's not why he did it. lyrics just didn't have as essential of a role on yeezus as they did on previous efforts. they were meant to convey certain moods/the kind of angst and frustration ye felt at that time, and thats pretty much what they did.

yeezus is just a good album..thats all..its being overblown by people in here...check everywhere else...its just ok

yeezus is half good half s---..people like me like the album because i can overlook the s--- parts...but delusional people that call it a classic is dumb as f---

its globally viewed to be not classic

I'm not saying sales goal is a negative approach, but what will sell more in 2015: Yeezus or College Dropout...

I like Kanye but I don't like the direction he is going or the people he associates himself with. But who am I?

how bout you just clearly explain it to him rather than be vague and call him an idiot

he's obviously off base about intentionally lowering the quality of the lyrics to sell more, and you could've nipped than in the bud with one post

not everyone needs for us to be sarcastic pricks -- a lot of people are genuinely interested in knowing what's right lol

brubbles im gonna need you to take a time out and calm down/actually give this album a chance and report back in a month (because you actually have good taste/i respect your thoughts)

"rebloodicans and democrips" was on the same song where the hook was "boo boo," it was meant to be ignorant and defiant. but anyways :biz:

I completely agree. I can listen to Yeezus. it's not like I'm calling it complete s---, but I won't call it a classic. The hype surrounding it and the reason it's so prevalent is because of all the marketing, billboards, t shirts, etc. that went with it.

I would rate it a solid 8 out of 10

In case you didn't get it though: the lyrics on Yeezus werent to pander for more sells. They were the way they are because the album was filled with sexual tension and frustration for being shoehorned in various aspect of his life.

With that in mind, go back and listen to Yeezus and tell me the lyrics dont do a good job at conveying those emotions.

There isn't a set standard for what "good lyrics" are or not -- there's good and bad writing for sure, but often times lyrics are more about fulfilling their intended purpose more than anything else.

Classic. Not quite better than GKMC, but a classic in itself. Amazing. Kendrick has solidified his place among hip hops greats.

    some s--- lines from yeezus

"Baby girl tryna get a nut/And her girl tryna give it up/Chopped ‘em both down/Don’t judge ‘em, Joe Brown"

who THE f--- is joe brown...i looked it up..he is nobody...just forced a line down our throat

    "I am a God/So hurry up with my d--- massage/In a French-a--- restaurant/Hurry up with my d--- croissants"

    kk

"Leave a pretty girl sad reputation/Start a Fight Club, Brad reputation"

    aha

    "I keep it 300, like Romans/300 b------s, where’s the Trojans?"

this might qualify for the SHITTIEST line kanye every said..this alone should stop an album from being semi classic..the dumbness shown in this line is so much

Yeah I got what you were saying the first time homie. I have listened to it with that point of view. like i said 8/10. He doesn't convey his thoughts as impressively as everyone thinks and sometimes the lyrics are corny even if that's how he feels, there could have been a better alternative to a few verses in my opinion.

TPABF is 10/10 or 9.8/10 because it nearly perfect in all aspects.

Funny thing is, he doesn't even quote correct history. 300 Spartans were from Sparta, Greece, not Rome

I'm not a huge fan of Yeezus as a whole project, but I still play songs off the album. With tpab, there are no songs I'm playing off the album anymore.
