Apr 11, 2015 Asher Roth started the idea that an average college kid white guy could blow up to become legitimate in rap and the white youtube rapper was born which brought to fame everyone from Sam Adams to Mac Miller to Hopsin (whiter than everyone on this list) to Macklemore
Feb 11, 2017 Would have to say MMLP. I'm totally fine with any arguments which pitch TES against it... and TES may be his most consistent album, the way it's put together - the number of amazing songs, just everything... it's maybe his closest to perfect. BUT what MMLP was and is - artistically? How powerful it is as a concept album. It's genius. TES is brilliant, but MMLP is a giant sledgehammer atom bomb piece of genius s--- pelted at your brain.
Feb 11, 2017 I know it's an old thread, but @WPG made some excellent points in here. Eminem gets way too much credit for the boom of hip hop in the late 90's and early 00's. Eminem was a big contributor, don't get me wrong, but rappers like Nelly, DMX, Master P, Juvenile, Will Smith, Ludacris, Jay Z and Outkast don't get NEARLY enough credit. 97/98 really were huge years for the genre. I might be off, but I feel like those two years, there was a lot of commercial success in hip hop, that really built up to the boom in the early 00's. Especially albums like No Way Out, Life After Death, Harlem World, Miseducation, It's Dark and h--- Is Hot, Last Don, 400 Degreez, Big Willie Style.... I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton.
Feb 11, 2017 The Eminem Show is hands down his best album and one of my all time favorite albums. That album is nearly flawless. Only flaw to me which is a track I almost always skip over Is drips. Its his only album I also don't skip over the lead single. He gave us every aspect of him in this album and you can tell he really cared about this album and put in the work. This album came out the same week as my 12th birthday and was what I got that year (edited of course then lol) and this album still has great replay value to me almost 15 years later.
Feb 11, 2017 People here don't like Under The Influence? Is that because it features D12? If so, I can see why people say it's a weak point on the album. I always loved the chorus and enjoyed Em's verse though.
