I mean yeah there's definitely a section of people that approach it with that POV, but there are also a group of people that think it's a piece of s--- (which is an unfounded extreme as well). But the actual quality of the album isn't all hype, it's pretty d--- great, and Kendrick isn't really overrated lol he's one of the best rappers alive

if you feel this way, you actually haven't gone through boosie's catalog. i know you're going to say that you have to save face, but go home and actually listen. boosie is one of the greatest to ever breathe.

What would you recommend except from Bad Azz and Life After Death Row? He released 7-8 tapes in 2009 only

i mean...del is one of the most important dudes ever and has made two and a half great records. his batting average is pretty abysmal, though.

see, you have guys who are formally very good but lack any discernible personality (black thought, gza on every album except liquid swords). boosie raps as well or better than them and melds that into the same emotional power that pac had, or nas' narrative ability. how come you don't have biggie OR jay in there?

no it's not. del is responsible for tons of great records. you're selling him short.

Discernible personality? So Black Thought has no personality? Black Thought>Boosie hands down, same with GZA. GZA has a lot of great material outside of liquid swords.

Big doesn't have enough material to warrant him being in the top 10. Jay-Z is painfully overrated, never thought he was on par with nas or pac. outside of RD his best work is blueprint which is entertaining but not great, and black album which is also overrated

that's not black thought's strength. he's a great mc. he works well with words, his narrative has been improving over the last ~decade. he'd be in my top 100 for sure. but inasmuch as rappers are selling charisma, he's far too anonymous on records for someone with such a vast catalog.
