Apr 23, 2015 i don't doubt this is true, and i'm sure people with the time/inclination can make a windows laptop run better than a macbook. but i bought the smallest macbook pro in 2010, beat the s--- out of it--i use it a disgusting amount every day and lugged it around vancouver in an often-damp backpack--and it lasted me almost exactly five years without putting in a dollar or sending it out to be repaired. that's two hundred bucks a year, which is a steal. just bought an air for ~$1,100 and was happy to pay it. that said, all i use my computer for is its word processor, web browsers, playing music, and streaming tv occasionally. i'm sure it's possible that if i was a professional in something that required more processing power i could feel differently.
Apr 23, 2015 They aren't the worst. Just the price point issue. They cost a ton to repair as well. On the subject of stability, I dropped my Lenovo off of a bunk bed onto linoleum tiling one time and only got superficial damage. That thing was a tank.

May 6, 2015 Adding to this ... I bought my first macbook pro in 2008 for about 2k. I literally have not spent a penny on upgrading it or anything .... Still runs perfect. Not sluggish. Now try that same scenario with a Windows PC I would have bought in 2008 for about 2k. Do you think it would be running with no issues in 2015?
