Writing poems is writing raps basically

Ballet is opposite of emo lmao

Cole was a decent mixtape rapper who found success with his 3rd album

Jigga started off with classics and retired then came back nowhere near as good

Absolutely no similarities career wise other than owning labels, but then drake Ye Ross and Wayne would fit the criteria as well, wouldn't they?

Dunno how to approach the original post because plenty of those albums are likable but by zero means "classic"

I read it but i cba type a response to it all on the phone. Luoe and Nas is the worst one Nas is probably the greatest rapper of all time.

Jcole makes his own music and Jay dont he does the production hooks usually everything

    Jay writes all his hooks

And why do you have to do everything to be considered Making your own music... Are guitarists or drummers or singers not musicians because they don't do everything in the band?

What i was saying is Jay and Cole are not similar because Cole produces everything etc theres more to him just writing raps.

And Lupe and Nas aint the same Lupe done notbing close to Illmatic or IWW at the very least

Even this isn't true. Jay-Z at the time had the Rocafella label with Dame (and Biggs?) and was his own boss with Dame (and co), as in didn't directly answer to Def Jam (it was moreso a partnership deal), Meanwhile Cole is slaving under Roc Nation and has his own label just to rake in some side-money and put out secondary acts. The difference is huge. Nobody never directly owned Jay-Z, meanwhile J.Cole belongs to Jay-Z. In no way shape or form is J.Cole his own boss, he can only boss around Bas, Cozz and them other little dudes he tries to put on. If Jay-Z wants Cole to jump then Cole will hop. However Jay-Z has always done what Jay-Z wanted and still continues to do so.

The other question is: are we talking artistry, or rapping? Because as an artist, Kendrick already has a better discography than 2Pac*, and as a rapper is obviously better than Kanye.

An album can have great rapping but still be terrible. Look at Pharaohe Monch's last couple of albums

*I honest to god put K Dot's last two albums over any Pac. All Eyez On Me is the most overrated album of the 90s
