Jun 7, 2015 i've never been that big on material items. i drive a 1997 honda civic that looks more like a minnesota vikings mobile than a honda. i dress neatly, but i've never spent that much money on clothes. i'm black, and until recently, i had never had a pair of jordans. the only reason i bought the ones i currently have is because they were only like 80 bucks because they're an older pair of J's. really, the only thing i've spent a lot on is anything vikings related like jerseys, memorbilla, etc i enjoy spending my money more on experiences. some of my favorite hobbies are going to sporting events, traveling and going to concerts....all which are experiences, not things. things are stuff like video games, expensive whips, DVDs, etc. i don't know, to me, experiences are much more memorable than spending your money on things. i saw prince in concert on mothers day and it was incredible. something i'll never forget. when you spend your money on things, it's not nearly as memorable IMO. but i know everyone doesn't feel that way... now obviously ppl spend money on both..........my question is which one do you spend MORE on/prefer?
Jun 7, 2015 Well I mean I spend more on things, but that's only because I live in Iowa where there isn't much to experience.
Jun 7, 2015 what's one of the most memorable experiences you've spent money on? tell us about it, res because this thread is looking like its gonna flop big time or maybe there just aren't many people online right now lol
Jun 7, 2015 I prefer spending it on experiences as well although it's probably not as smart of an idea but oh well. I'd rather have fun than have something of value most of the time.
Jun 7, 2015 Experiences - concerts, traveling to other countries, going out with friends, eating out, etc. I only buy things when I need them really, I honestly never even buy my own clothes or anything. For the most part I only own things I need, besides the iPad which I regret buying. I buy $30-40 Nikes from the Nike outlet like once a year though, since I run a lot.
Jun 7, 2015 Ehh..I'd love to say experiences but I've always had trouble enjoying things that I do, I don't always really connect with them all that well. I'd much rather buy something nice that reminds me of occasions. I can look at lots of the things I own and remember what I was doing when I bought it and associate it with feelings.
Jun 7, 2015 experiences as travels to other countries, swear it is an adiction got four booked this year and trying to book the fifth one but i cant find anyone that can go to Dubai
Jun 7, 2015 Experiences. Objects don't mean anything. Experiencing life and having good stories to tell is a lot better. The day you'll be in the hospital on your death bed you won't give a s--- about that flashy car or that big a--- tv in your living room. You'll much rather remember all those amazing things you got to do. You won't regret not buying that flashy car, but you will regret all the things you never got to do.
Jun 7, 2015 Both. It depends on the circumstance. I like to spend my money on things so that I have a nice living space while I wait and save to spend my money on experiences. My situation in life factors into as well. When I'm with my bf, I/we want to spend our money on seeing the bands that we love and travelling to as many places as we can. When we are apart I find myself spending my money on more materialistic things. A lot of clothes, shoes and make up. And then there are the times that you literally piss your money away spending it on experiences. Like going out for dinner or for a 'couple' of drinks. I's a fun time and you might check out new bars in your city but by the end of the night, the money that you've spent could have gone towards a flight to somewhere close.
Jun 7, 2015 I spend my money on things such as alcohol so I can further enjoy the experience that I'm spending money on
Jun 7, 2015 I spend money on things that will allow me to enjoy my hobbies. Pick up truck, boat, fishing and hunting gear etc. Currently saving up to get a snowmobile and a 4 wheeler, I'd like to have both within a year from now.
Jun 7, 2015 2012 I had a great trip... I went to Florida to celebrate my best friend graduating from commercial diving school... I landed in Jacksonville hung out there for a night and watch him get all his certs and diplomas, drove to Tampa Bay... Did all the Tampa Bay s--- for a weekend... Busch Gardens, clubs ect... Then drove to Orlando where we rented a house with a "Florida room" with a big pool and Jacuzzi and he knew some people to party with... Went to Epcot, then drove to Miami... Took in a couple of concerts and club hopped. Then I flew to New York as Huricane Sandy was coming in and following me to NYC... I caught a plane to Dublin where I spent a month in Ireland touring with one of my favorite bands who I'm friends with and rode on their bus... Went throughout both the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland for over 20 shows in over a dozen cities and towns, plus saw Muse at O2 in Dublin... Flew back to New York visited both sets of grandparents in White Plains and Toledo, Ohio (that was the last time I ever saw my White Plains grandma), flew from Detroit to meet up with my girl in San Francisco... In one week in SF/Oakland I saw the Browns take on the Raiders front row directly behind the Browns bench, watched a Golden State vs. Denver Nuggets TNT game of the week courtside (met Pam Oliver, if that counts for anything), went a Bruce Springsteen concert in the same house the next day and was up against the front rail for the whole show... He kissed my girls hand and shook my hand 5 seconds before the big tribute to his passed friend Clarence Clemmons and then watched Trey Parker and Matt Stone's "Book of Mormon" on its first off Broadway production. Flew home after basically a six week party. Proud that I did that for myself.
Jun 7, 2015 I didn't count it... Around $10k altogether... Maybe a little more. Actually probably more than $15k when I think about it.
Jun 7, 2015 When I was in Ireland I tried to meet up with Big John... I was in Londonderry for two days and told him as Fuzzy Dunlop that I was there and wanted to meet up with him... He kept deleting my posts and permanently banning me (this is when he was a mod)... What's was really weird about SL was it wouldn't allow you to register screen names with "Derry" in them... I kept trying to and it would just give me an error message saying I couldn't register that name. BJ was a f---ing coward.
Jun 7, 2015 Do you think farkle will go through with kicking JMG's a--- when he visits his family in Florida later in the year?
