Jun 12, 2015 glad it's getting around tbh if I could I'd pay Future to do the hook himself just to avoid having Travis Scott in my library
Jun 12, 2015 thug the best thing to happen to this site, so many goat posters joining @Cain @Slime No Nickelodeon @finktron @trevor scatt @Squid etc
Jun 12, 2015 a) me not catching a reference=/=ignoring what people say b) I don't ignore any points brought up against Travis, see "a" c) when have I ever said anything about Travis' verse beyond "I like this more than most people" I'm not under any sort of illusion that Travis is some amazing rapper, and in general I agree with most points brought against him (although I do feel y'all are a bit harsher on him, like for instance you saying he only included the Shmurda reference Because he used the flow) I just happen to enjoy everything about Travis, like everything he brings to the table is what I want in my rap music, and so knowing that he's not a technically gifted rapper I'm not gonna take the time to address every single complaint brought up
Jun 12, 2015 the best part is that the song is still 6+ mins w/o scott, because, as usual, even though hes the worst part of his song, hes also the most inconsequential. itd be like taking travis verse off sloppy toppy or mamacita -- ud be doing nothing but making the song even better lol
Jun 12, 2015 if you paid any real attention to the post i made, i spelled out which parts were what references. you ignored it. probably cause u think im "baiting." baiting is calling travis the WOAT. not what i do every time i pick apart why hes boring on a song lol u dont like talking about them tho lolol also, aye f--- her, i wanna f--- her motherrr thug on mamcita (listening now) >>>>>> when u just said futures verse was as "average" as travis's lolol yeah i dont htink travis really cars about shmurda's arrest lol. are they even friends? maybe im wrong. but yaw i think its cause he needed an easy trendy flow to bite and that was it for this one. as uve pointed out, other rappers do this too (drake does it a lot when he finds a flow he likes, etc) but travis uses it like a d--- crutch half the time because, as u agree, hes not a great rapper lol boring verses are what u look for in rap music doe?
Jun 12, 2015 I don't remember your post ever explaining why it was biting so I didn't catch it It's not that I dislike talking about Travis, it's that there's nothing to say As for the Shmurda thing thats exactly what I'm talking about, you always assume the absolute worst. Obv Travis only shouted out a popular figure who's been arrested because he wanted to bite him. Obv Travis only had a good hook because future was in the same room as him, etc etc And I don't find his verses boring obv
Jun 12, 2015 3500 was amazing even if it wasn't because of Travis, and Drunk is f---ing beautiful, regardless of the fact that Travis sounds like Future
Jun 12, 2015 Basically @Narsh I listen to Travis because he's good at crafting the overall song, and I just happen to like him so even his verses considered boring are cool to me, and I know rodeo is gonna be more of this so it's gonna be a masterpiece Also if you're listening to Travis and focusing on his verses you're doing it wrong lol
Jun 12, 2015 Future influenced does not mean he sounds like him... Drunk fire, definitely sounded harder live tho
Jun 12, 2015 3500 would be amazing if 1 of the 3 verses was expendable as is, and how itll be on the album, its good. great in parts. drunk is lackluster. maybe i can see "beautiful" to some extent but thug is phoning it in (and killing it tho) and travis is boring as i said (but not bad like on 3500).
Jun 12, 2015 but he does sound like him on drunk lol also thug is literally singing " i need skeeeeet" on travis's song. n----- definitely does not like travis hahah
Jun 12, 2015 The beat is haunting and Travis' inflection sells it while Thugs part helps retain the vibe the lyrics are displaying
Jun 12, 2015 sells what tho? i feel like the track as a whole is too hollow. unless u think that adds to it? idk
Jun 12, 2015 nah cause half the time a line u think is "sus" actually isnt. and my point was that thugs clearly on autopilot here. his autopilot is better than travis actually trying, but thats besides the point
Jun 12, 2015 I agree with this. Travis is good at choosing producers (never thought I'd see Mike Dean and Metro/Zay collab on a beat) and picking the right features. I'd be happy if he stopped rapping and producing and started putting out DJ Khaled-esque releases, that's where his real talent is.
