Some of the best / my favorite runs of 5 years or less were posted .. 2Pac, Biggie, Outkast, Tribe Called Quest, Zeppelin, Beatles. Not sure if anyone mentioned Ice Cube, though it was just a 3 year run with 3 great albums from 1990-1992 (Amerrikkka's Most Wanted, Death Certificate, The Predator). Some might say he kept it going in 1993 with Lethal Injection, but I was never big into that one.

A few others that come to mind:

    Dave Matthews Band
1994 - Under the Table and Dreaming
    1996 - Crash
1998 - Before These Crowded Streets

    The Smiths
    1984 - The Smiths
    1985 - Meat Is Murder
1986 - The Queen is Dead
    1987 - Louder Than Bombs
1987 - Strangeways, Here We Come

    Incubus
    1997 - S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
    1999 - Make Yourself
    2001 - Morning View

    Elliott Smith
    1997 - Either / Or
    1998 - XO
    2000 - Figure 8

    Pearl Jam
    1991 - Ten
    1993 - Vs.
    1994 - Vitalogy

    Uncle Tupelo
    1990 - No Depression
    1991 - Still Feel Gone
    1992 - March 16-20, 1992
    1993 - Anodyne

The Cure (1979->1983 or 1985->1989 which is less stacked but it has Disintegration) deserve a mention. Radiohead (1997 - > 2001). Kyuss and The Smiths too. And Frank Zappa

I'm going to say Nas from 1999 to 2003.

    I Am is criminally underrated.

Nastradamus was a piece of s--- album, but then he dropped Stillmatic.. I also love God's Son, and even though Lost Tapes is a compilation, that's 3 amazing albums in a 5 year span.

    I'd also put Jay-Z from 1999 to 2003 too

Granted, it starts off a bit slow with Life And Times and Dynasty....

But then you have BP1, BP2 (which to me, if it was a single disc, would've been a classic) and Black Album.

I'll say Outkast from 96 to 2000 too. ATLiens, Aquemini and Stankonia. Amazing run.

    Joe Budden 2003 to 2007:

Self titled album, Mood Muzik 1, Mood Muzik 2, Mood Muzik 3. He was also releasing TONS of material around this time, which gets overlooked. This might be my favorite run overall.

@Fitz Nastradamus wasn't a piece of s---, that's an exaggeration. Forgettable/mediocre? Sure.... But the album wasn't terrible. Nas doesn't have a bad album imo

Awful album. Unlike you (most likely), I spent money on it, and it was Encore before Encore, at the time.

Maybe for some who look back, it's not that bad... But, I'm telling you, when everyone got the album, they were like "What the f--- is this piece of s--- album?"
