He's still not as good as he was during the Recovery era, but his recent material is wayyyy better than that awful 2012-13/MMLP2 era. Best Friend is probably his best feature since Airplanes 2.

I love the song except for that hook. Would've been a classic if he brought in a guest vocalist to sing the hook properly.

Good album, could have been better but best post hiatus for sure.
This album is the reason mmlp2 was such a disappointment, he looked like he was getting better each album back to his old form.
Then he waits 3 years and drops mmlp2, which is like his 2nd worst album. I hope his next album doesn't sound like this or shady xv

I agree. Hard to believe he recorded Recovery in less than a year then it took him three years to put out that garbage MMLP2.

Bruh, its like your opinion is the complete opposite of what's correct. Everything about you is wrong bro. Em didn't fall off in 2012-2013, MMLP2 was his best work post-comeback. ShadyXV is garbage besides Fine Line. If anything, Em fell off during the Recovery/h--- The Sequel era.

Not the album as a whole (because of SH, Yelawolf, etc), but Eminem's material on Shady XV was a HUGE improvement over his work on MMLP2.

i really thought this was his most pure album aside from the pop acts he was collaborating with, otherwise the songs with deeper content were top notch. it's still better than that cash grab MMLP2 album.

i don't know if it will ever be close to TES, but in terms on him actually sounding passionate in his music i can see where you coming from. easily his best effort as of recently, he also doesn't sound lazy. maybe he put too much energy in his verses on here since people were complaining on his "yelling" so much.

no shot. right for me is completely forgettable, die alone makes the middle part of encore look genius, and I forgot shady xv (the song) even existed until I just looked at the tracklist now. gof is the only bright spot on the entire album, and maybe fine line if you're feeling generous. mmlp2 material>>>2014/2015 material and it's not even really close.

Why is everyone comparing Recovery to TES lol in no way is Recovery even close to TES. Just because it's a serious album? If that's the case then he hit the nail on the head with Relapse sounding like his earlier work.

@Koolo Still feel the same, Recovery is his best overall effort he's put out since returning. Sure half was trash but the other half was honestly great and I can still enjoy 5+ years later. I can't remember the last time i listened to more then like 2 tracks off MMLP2.
I don't even know how many tracks he's put out after 2011 that can
compare to this freestyle, which kind of says something.

Recovery has it's good and bad qualities.
    Good:
    Content
    Flow
    Going Through Changes (10/10)
    New Maturity
    Focused Direction

    And the bad...
First time working with Alex Da Kid and DJ Khalil
    Cringeworthy punchlines
    Delivery on several tracks
    Rhianna
    Awful track-placing
It's funny, everyone blasted Recovery when it dropped, and now is calling it a classic. It's the opposite of MMLP2, which while suffering from plenty of issues, is not as horrid as @Arch Dogg claims it is. Recovery, did everything right that MMLP2 got wrong. Everyone took Recovery Em for granted and wanted Slim Shady back, well...guess what dumbasses? you got him! Now your whining about how awful MMLP2 is and how Recovery is amazing. They are both good albums with big flaws. I honestly think Em needs to get outside more and see the world.

The fact that he sang the hook made it better to me imo

It represents how personal the song was no matter how good or bad the hook sounded

If he brought in a guest vocalist to sing the hook it would of made the track sound fabricated

It was a solid album, I really enjoyed it.

Also loved that it had 2 album covers.

MMLP2 > s--- >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Recovery. In this forum, too much hate on MMLP2 (his best album post hiatus) and too much love for Recovery (his worst album after Encore). Recovery is trash, poppy and awful.
