Because he has a different opinion? In what world would we live, if everyone had the same opinion? Let him rate Recovery higher. It's his opinion. Nothing wrong with that (Although I disagree with him too).
I literally never got this comment. People love to hate that song. Yet it is his biggest selling song worldwide. Yet people don't want to like that song, just because it features Rihanna. I like that song. Obviously not my favourite, h--- no. But it propelled Recovery's sales and kept the album VERY high (Zillion weeks inside the top 10/20).
And I don't see the issue if people start to appreciate Eminem as an artist after they heard LTWYL. As I said, let them be. Their opinion, their music taste.

I don't even think Recovery deserves all that bashing. There are truly some really good songs on that album (Cinderella Man, 25 To Life, Cold Wind Blows, No Love and yes LTWYL too lol). By all means, it isn't my favourite album of Em. It probably ranks below or on par with Encore, with Relapse being on he last place. And I never liked Groundhog Day. Rhyme or Reason has NO replay value at all due to the weird production. But again, you have your opinion and I have mine. So I'm totally fine with yours.

But at the end of the day this is all subjective.

Although obviously we will defend our opinions and won't like some opinions of other members/people. But thats how it is. I just don't think we need to write like a person has a superior opinion instead of the other member. Again, let the people favour what ever they like. It won't change their opinion towards the music itself.

    Quick thought to the topic:

The word "classic" needs to be banished. I'm seriously fed up with that word.

His voice is worse now though, much worse. I can't listen to someone and enjoy it if they don't sound good to me. I can listen to old Lil Wayne for days because his voice was smooth as f---, it sounded dope. Present day Wayne's voice hurts my ears and the same applies with Eminem. His current flow is awful, you can't deny that. With regards to Recovery and MMLP2, I prefer the former because it feels more sincere to me. Granted the beats are hit and miss, and the shouting can be annoying, but I enjoy him way more on there. I listened to MMLP2 once and didn't want to touch it again, there is no replay value there apart from a few songs. Groundhog day is decent, Bad Guy is underwhelming (last verse aside), Rhyme or Reason is trash and Evil Twin is nothing to write home about, its filled with s--- lines i.e Koala Bear? Wtf. GTC alone s----s on all of those songs a hundred times over.

I'm someone who enjoys looking at things from different perspectives. The only way I see someone enjoying recovery more than mmlp2 is if that person is into pop, rather than hip-hop, which would make further discussions pretty impossible, because of the knowledge difference. But yeah, you do have a point here.

People dislike it, because it's probably the most pop song of Em's. Most of the true Eminem fans don't appreciate this song, because of that reason. It's really popular because most of the teenagers/girls/females are listening to it and find very beautiful. But opinions are said so that they could be discussed anytime, if he or anyone else is making a post, he should be willing to discuss about certain things then. It's only natural to discuss if you find something you disagree with and want to sort things out.

Lyrically and production wise, Recovery really is the weakest album, though the lyrics were made in a way that they would have far bigger replay value than more complex songs. Relapse, production wise, was one of his best albums, though the accents totally ruined everything. Sales failed very much with relapse and some fans were leaving him, so he needed something very commercial to attract a big load of fans again to his side. And so he did, with recovery.

Like I already said, I find it natural to discuss about things you disagree.

I agree. I'm pretty sure most of the people even understand the word classic differently.

Absolutely great post, by the way.

This. So many things he releases today are unlistenable. I can't even name a song I've listened to after MMLP2.
