I'm kind of conflicted here. On one hand my Mother suffers from BP among a handful of other things and spent almost all of last year in a mania fueled psychosis. You are right in that it almost killed her. You are right that the toll true mania and psychosis takes on a person physically can k--- them. I don't think Kanye has been mentally ill and untreated for 4 years. It's not possible. Could he be going on and off meds? Sure. As far as how he's behaving some of it reminds me of my Mother but I would think he'd be a LOT more delusional. The caveat would be that this is just the beginning and it's about to be a lot worse but this has been going on for some time, so...


What I will say is it's really ignorant for people to be asking "Why don't his family/friends get him help?" I am sure they are trying but our mental health system is a joke and because of privacy laws it's d--- near impossible. Somebody would need to go after his legal guardianship, have him committed, take him to court AND THEN pray the judge rules for court ordered meds. Other than that? Good luck. Our system protects mentally ill people to the point that it hurts them.

You're saying some of it is, sure, but the rest is because it's a marketing ploy. Set aside the fact that, again, you're drawing that line arbitrarily and without explanation. More importantly, as @WPG has been saying - this guy ruined his reputation and his music career in the process! Why would he do more of the thing that has been sinking his career for the better part of 4 years?

On your point about him being more delusional - how could he be? This guy thinks he's going to become president and end poverty. He thinks Get Out was about him. Delusional is definitely the word that comes to mind

To your second point - you're absolutely right. I have a family member who is very mentally ill and it really only developed in adulthood. He refuses to seek treatment and unless he gets violent, it seems like there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. I'm not saying Kanye's circle of friends and family is handling this well - I have no idea. But I would suspect that in many ways, their hands are tied until Kanye admits that he needs help

Thank you brother. All is great now. I got guardianship in May of 2019 and after her 5th time being committed in 2019 they got off their a----s and got her on court ordered meds last November(the order was only for 90 days but she's continued them after the court order) She's the most normal she's been in her entire life. We were very lucky.
