It is an extremely oversimplified POV though—regardless if there is some truth to it. Yes, there’s money & corruption in politics, everyone knows that. People largely use that an excuse not to engage in the political process & I think that’s what @Alchemist34 is getting at. By not engaging, you’re allowing the very corruption that you’re ranting about to continue to happen. The idea that there’s no point in political participation because it’s all corrupt is just bs. That’s exactly what the elites want the masses to think.

That's not my point though. I vote, I follow what the particular parties stand for and I'm knowledgeable in politics of my country and I'm somewhat interested in other countries. For example your country, because mainstream culture as well as politics of it influences the whole western world. So in the end my point was I don't get into heated debates over candidates and parties, because I don't take it serious. The whole spectacle of it. I do my duty when elections come and mostly use it as tool to shift Overton Window, but I don't put my hopes into politicians unless they are not a mainstream figure or are shunned by corporate media. So when there is no big capital behind them that has shady goals.

He’s switched parties numerous times in his life. People’s views can change, yeah, but like this? Lol. He’s an opportunist first & foremost. Trump isn’t an ideologue at all.

But you can see how this “both-siderism” argument can discourage people from political participation which goes beyond just voting. It just lazily infers you’re f----- regardless who you vote for which isn’t necessarily true. If people didn’t have this mindset, more people would be politically engaged & more people would be content with their representation.

This I agree with 100%. You can just look what he was saying before he was elected and after.

Yeah, I agree with this part also. I have a thought from time to time that people should lose certain benefits if they don't take part in a voting process, but it has a one big flaw. Then people who didn't do any research would vote, but that thing is also happening regardless of it so maybe it would be a good idea in the end.

Don't know where Pelosi's gettin at, not passing it down to the Senate until there's a fair trial. Can't see what can be done to make it a fair trial in the land of the Lindsey Grahams, Mitch McConnells, etc. etc. etc.. Like really am i missin somethin, literally what can be done here?

Senate trial rules only require a majority vote to pass. There are several more moderate Republicans with upcoming competitive elections that could force McConnell to conduct a fair trial. I think it’s good on Pelosi to sit on the impeachment articles until Senate rules are hashed out. If there’s no trial, so be it. Shift the conversation to healthcare & other issues voters really want to hear about.
