Sep 24, 2015 feeling this one more than the newest one, but something about the changed up part the comes in at 1:00 bothers me. like it almost sounds off key or something?' anyways gj with these as usual m8
Sep 24, 2015 Yeah I get what you mean. It's a slight shift in tone/pitch. The sampled vocals are pitched a little higher than the main melody (thats probably what you hear) but I was going for variety while trying to maintain the atmosphere of the instrumental. thanks m8
Sep 27, 2015 Like it, very dark and eerie as usual, only complaint is probably just the same complaint I'd have about most of your beats, and that's that it's a little too repetitive at times for my tastes, but this wouldn't be noticeable if someone ever rapped over them. they're very fit for it also didn't see that end coming, so good job w/ the surprise change up there
Sep 27, 2015 Yeah I'm slowly starting to incorporate more shifts and chord progressions into my beats to avoid too much redundancy, as seen with the last few beats I've posted. You're right though, they're made with a goal in mind: Someone to rap over them. I just haven't stepped too much into the territory of beat shifts and what not because often times I would find it somewhat Hard to find another sample that would hold or elevate the atmosphere of the beat (I hardly do anything organic in my production, for now) but it's gotten a lot easier. Although then again, repetitiveness can be a good thing. Some of the greatest hiphop beats of our time are repetitive as f--- lmao And thanks for the love man!
