    you guys have very similar styles

    old school sounding, dusty noir inspired/sampled beats

    where as I'm producing very bassy/crisp original mix american edm/hip hop

    True, although sometimes when you put two people in a situation with vastly different approaches/styles to music, the end result can be better than two people with similar styles
