Jan 7, 2016 always loved it, but simultaneously slept on it. from the "yayaya" and "n-----, WHAT!?" at the start to the entire structure and aesthetic of a song, its a great testament to how much Thug's sound has evolved over the years. in many way he's still the exact same artist he was over half a decade ago. he's rapped about the same s---, used the same ad libs, etc. but he's built upon those aspects of his music so fluidly over the years. to the point where "oh hes rapping about a girl/car/whatever again" isnt the same kind of valid criticism it could be for another artist. ive said this before about writing in general, but a great testament of creativity is the ability to approach a single, seemingly limited topic from a billion different ways. and, as a writer, thug most definitely meets that criteria but thats kind of besides the point (i just thought it was worth noting since I can sometimes pick out lines in a 2015 thug song that was on an ICFN track...but at the same time)...as a whole, including yak gotti continuing the spiritual journey he began on "Dream," PUOAK is just pure bliss
Jan 7, 2016 same, it just seemed like "power" on SS1 where its promoted more than the others and is easily one of the more accessible tracks so people are drawn to it. but i never had it in my top 3 or even 5 on the tape i personally i rate the thug tracks that fully show how well of a writer and technically sound rapper he is above the rest (so, like, thats why "flaws" is the best rack on SS2 for me)....but as I said in the OP when put in context to how far he's come aesthetically as an artist...the song just clicks on another level
Jan 7, 2016 yeah i never said it was top 5. its never been in my top 3. title is just being bold for the sake of being bold lol ill change it to pull up on a kid appreciation thread once more people skip the OP and cry about it my top 5 (quality wise) is flaws, raw, never made love, mind right and hey I i think my top 5 favorites are flaws, raw. hey i, my baby, and a bunch tied for 5th lol mind right might be the most overlooked track on the record. gotta make a thread about that later
Jan 7, 2016 Word. My top 5 gotta be Thief in the night, Hey I, Raw, Never Made Love, my Baby(this one woulda sounded so lit on nba 2k16)
