Only had time to listen to SSLP. I actually think this will probably be my least favorite of what is considered his classic works because I don't really like shock rap stuff and that SSLP flow was ruined by Hopsin jacking it for me.

Should have started with MMLP. Ridiculous mistake, would have made you appreciate MMLP 2 a little bit.

How is it a ridiculous mistake to listen to SSLP before MMLP? It's his major label debut.

@Skippy SSLP's my personal favorite, but it sounds like the Eminem Show might be more up your alley if you didn't like it. MMLP's more of a middle ground.

Well i don't know how to put into words but, he did say he skimmed through MMLP 2, so I'm guessing if he would have listened to MMLP first he might get a better understanding about the record & enjoy it & it might open up to him more, now that he listened to SSLP first, obviously he doesn't seem fond of it, so he might not even bother to check out the rest.

I see, I mean what Hospin does is corny. His writing is blunt and straight foward and literally that's all you get with his music is "shock value" which a lot of the time isn't even shocking because tons of rappers do it now.

There's a lot more to SSLP than shock value, unlike Hopsin Eminem is very witty, clever, charismatic, humerous, he just gives you a lot more. Also I think what needs to be noted in context with this album is that as a kid Em loved comic books. You can really tell that influenced him a lot with some of the references in this album and even how he wrote certain songs like Brain Damage, Role Model, As The World Turns all have a very cartoonish/comic-like vibe to them. I just find it really cool how he can joke around and talk about ridiculous things that obviously didn't happen like "jack--- o-- in front of my councilor" but then also turn around and talk about real events that happened in his life like being "beat into submission" by a bully. SSLP is basically a comic book of Eminem's child hood.

I absolutely agree and didn't mean to imply this was Hopsin-tier music, I was just saying I personally can't f--- with it because of the simarities. It's a cool project tho, and thanks to everyone who gave recommendations.

Skippy, i see that you are a Ye fan. For that, i recommend you to hear TES right now.

Is the most complete album of Em. Got it everything. Most songs are straight 10/10.

I'd rank Say What You Say a lot lower (like 4-5) but other than that I agree with you for the most part.

It drags on too long, is disappointing when you look at previous Em/Dre collabs, and isn't particularly interesting one way or another. It's not unlistenable, but I don't find any part of it to be compelling in any way.
