Yeah, Say What You Say is pretty much just a filler track. It'd probably be like a 5 or 6/10. I never understood the hate for When the Music Stops tbh.... Pretty great track, even Bizzare delivers one of his better verses.

A lot of horrible advice here. SSLP and MMLP are his most creative and best work, along with Devil's Night. TES is decent but it holds nothing against its predecessors, it is rather repetitive & has some corny beats and forgettable tracks. Highly overrated by many.

Say What You Say isn't bad at all, it's just mediocre compared to the rest of the greatness on TES. Overall kind of a lame concept for a song. A diss track aimed at Jermaine Dupri just because he said he's a better producer than Dre. Nowadays you can't get these guys to respond no matter how hard you try.

When The Music Stops is extremely underrated. One of the best tracks on TES and one of the best D12 tracks ever. The beat is sick and each member delivers one of their best verses ever.

For anyone trying to get into Em, his material on the 8 Mile soundtrack was obviously his peak.

I actually like more "My Dad Gone's Crazy" but Without Me is like THE HIT so i give it a 10/10.

But yeah i think that MDGC is also 10/10 so i would modify my score.

SSLP is amazing, as is MMLP.

I can't imagine not liking either of those. Especially if it's my first time listening to either, no matter how dated some of the content might seem, I feel there would be so many lines stuck in my head afterwards

That's because people think that catchy singles can't be 10/10 songs. Most part of this is true but Without Me is THE exception.

Technically outstanding, super catchy chorus, really nice beat and a lot of humor. I don't think that, for example, "My Name Is" or "The Real Slim Shady" are 10/10 songs, but Without Me for me is really the great single.

But i get your point.


Everytime i rate "Hailie's Song" with a 10/10 i feel bad. Because that is not the score that deserves. That song means a lot more than numbers. The last time i heard the song i almost cry. I don't think that Em would made something like that track again.

I agree that Hailie's Song is definitely one of his best songs ever. I'd say its in his Top 3. I remember reading somewhere that he originally didn't wanna put that song on the album because he thought it was too personal. But he played it for some family members and they all insisted he put it out. Most of them were in tears by the end of the song.

Couldn't agree more -- It's actually one of my favorite songs and I still play it frequently. Every verse is on point, and it's not often you hear Bizarre capture the point of the song as much as anyone else. Beat is simple yet fantastic - I love the brief keys that come in every few bars. Overall, song is just full of energy/passion. This and Rap Game may be my two favorite D12 songs, although there's obviously some worthy competitors on Devil's Night.

I know When The Music Stops says Eminem and Mr. Porter both produced it, but it's gotta be 90% Em, right? It's beats like this that D12 need/needed, not the experimental/alternative/soft stuff Denaun likes.

His freestyles and unreleased/featured verses were great back then, songs like Stir Crazy etc. I'd def recommend looking for some of these, along with SSEP, SSLP, MMLP, TES, 8 Mile OST and Devil's Night as people have already said.

I'd give relapse a spin before mmlp. Relapse is highly underrated on this forum. A top 3 multi rhyme scheme based hip hop album of all time. The flow and lyrics are insane.
