    IDK, haven't done the statistics but it feels as it is 50/50 to me. Matter of fact even as funny as it sounds, but his "Lights please" song illustrates his music career content selection wise very well. Here he is tryna make a real impact with meaningful deep content and the next moment he gets soon distracted and ends up making a song about bagging a b---- or something to that nature.

    that's probably the label forcing him to do these things. not everybody likes content. notice Young Thug, he doesn't rap about the things Cole, Kendrick rap about.

    its not just about people who like content vs people who dont @Brooklyn Boy

    it's first and foremost about good music, then its about how well the content was executed while keeping the context in mind.


    Id much rather take Kendrick's Backseat Freestyle over, say, How Much a Dollar Cost, because I think the former was executed better and that (+ other reasons regarding the beat, delivery, flow, etc) makes it the better song for me.

    If we went by your standards id just inherently have to like HMADC more because its supposedly "better" content

    hip hop back in the days was more of a "macho" thing with artists like 50 Cent, DMX, etc. it's going a different direction that not many like.
