    The character, not Pitt himself. The character has a discernible philosophy and idea of things that gets challenged in the film.
    As the rookie, he's yet to have his optimism checked like Freeman's character. He still believes in the inherent good of man.
    It's written and portrayed rather subtly compared to other roles that I listed. It isn't said outright until self the car ride.

    Cool read, thanks. I'm not much of an analyst when actually watching movies but I love reading things like this from people who care enough, it gives me more to think about when rewatching and makes some experiences better.

    Haven't seen his entire filmography but from what I've seen, I'd say his best performance is between Moneyball and Jesse James.
