SO f---ing TRUE. I enjoyed HBP for what it was. A lot of it was pretty funny. But it was also really disappointing. They should have added another hour of Voldemorts back story and other details that were in the book. Deathly hallows Part 1 is my favorite next to POA and GOF. That dance scene between Hermione and Harry is Beautiful. OOTP was terrible. Should have had another hour of story added. The Boggart scene definitely should have been there. They should have emphasized Harry's connection to Voldemort more. Harrys battle with Bellatrix should have been longer to show case Harrys rage. In fact they did a horrible job at showing how angry Harry really was. His screaming match with Dumbledore should have been in there along with their conversation afterwards. And I agree with everything you said about Part 2. Should have been more brutal. They also skipped over several death scenes. Like Freds death scene. THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THERE. It was heartbreaking in the books and I cant believe they cut it. I keep hoping they will release extended editons of all the films with everything that was cut (Not just deleted scenes I mean the HOURS of footage we haven't seen). GOF has a whole hour that was cut. So does OOTP. And really all of them except the first three have another hour that was cut that I really want to see. Hopefully they release the directors cuts near the release of the new movie.

Bruh, so many missed opportunities with Harry Potter...

Like I said, the first two movies, I accept... They aren't masterpieces, and they cater to little kids... I get it...

But once they switched tones? The series had the potential to be the best movie series of all time, hands down.

They absolutely dropped the ball with OOTP and HBP.

OOTP, HBP and Deathly Hallows were my favorite books... I absolutely loved them.

I remember when they were filming HBP, and they were saying they only had two memories of Voldemorts... I was pissed... I LOVED the story of Voldemort, and how he killed off his family, and then stole the heirloom and made it a horcrux... Or how he killed all those people, put a curse on them, and put them in the lake to defend his soul... That s--- blew my mind in the book.

Also, in the movies, they made it SO obvious that Snape was good. In the books? You had zero idea, because of how much the guy f---ing hated Harry and his father. Especially the Occlumency lessons between Harry and Snape... The amount of torture that Snape put Harry through was crazy... Yet in OOTP? They BARELY showed those lessons.

I though DH2 was going to show Voldemort unleashed, and there were bits and pieces of it... When they show him stepping in blood, over goblins, I was like f--- YES... And when he burst open the shield protecting Hogwarts? BOSS.... but in the book, I remember them saying Voldemort, in the final battle, was killing off everyone who stepped in his way...I think they should've OVER done this... Shown his true power, shown how much of a threat he was...

Also, why the f--- didn't they show him put the sorting Hat on Neville's head, and set it on fire? That part was f---ing bad a--- in the books... "There will be no more sorting hat... Neville will now demonstrate.. (flicks wand, hat bursts into flames on Neville's head)... Definitely wanted to see that actor get owned like that.

There was just so much dark s--- in the books that should've been used. Voldemort, with Ralph Fiennes, could've been one of the GOAT villains in film history....

I'm not even saying that they had to follow the books either... Some things they did, weren't in the book, but ADDED to it... The dance scene you talk of, was not in the book, but it was beautifully done...

They should've REALLY made Voldemort threatening... Should've made the wizarding world brutal as f---, like in the books... Should've really drove home the Nazi Germany references...

Ugh it just pisses me off.

In saying all that though, Deathly Hallows Part 1 was amazing. It might be one of my favorite movies ever... They absolutely nailed it.
