Oct 20, 2016 He was horrible. And his makeup. Just god, what the f--- were they thinking? It looked like burnt cheese.
Oct 20, 2016 Freddy is absolutely terrible in the remake. I like Kate Cassidy a lot though, and overall I think the movie is okay. FvsJ is a lot better. Yeah agree the concept is really cool. And honestly, the movie is meant for the fans of Elms and Friday13th movies mostly. Its not really meant as a really scary one, more fun and for the fans.
Oct 20, 2016 I mean it makes sense from a realistic standpoint. That's what a burned face would actually look like, yknow? But it ain't Freddy. Also, from what I remmeber from seeing it in theaters almost 7 years ago lol, was that they made Freddy a pedophile? I know at some point in the past Craven had to steer away from this due to the studio not wanting it going in that direction. Makes him more dislikable imo (which makes him likeable?) Dont know what it is about this October, but I've been really into Freddy/Jason/MM.
Oct 20, 2016 I mean I get it. But that's the problem. They shouldn't have went for realism with his makeup. Freddy is literally someone who only appears in nightmares. In your nightmare is anything realistic? No, usually everything is exaggerated. That's where they f----- up at.
Oct 20, 2016 You're welcome! And same, watched Elmstreet 3 (Dream Warriors) yesterday. Gonna watch the remake and FvsJ too. My favorite Elmstreet besides 1 is New Nightmare though. Gonna watch Halloween 1, H20 next weekend, along with Trick r Treat (great Halloween movie) and Tales Of Halloween.
Oct 20, 2016 Just watched Ft13 '09. Lots of cliches, but it held up for me since back when I saw it in probabaly 2011 And yea, New Nightmare was genius lol
Oct 20, 2016 I saw the Friday remake in theaters. I thought it was actually pretty good as far as horror remakes. But it was more like a sequel than a remake.
Oct 29, 2016 I think it was honestly like they took something from each of the first four films and combined them.
Oct 29, 2016 Halloween >>> A Nightmare on Elm Street > A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors > WGAF I need to revisit these. I'm more familiar with Friday the 13th atm.
Oct 29, 2016 I owned it on VHS somehow and so I watched it multiple times when I was younger, even special features and stuff. I've since seen a lot of praise for it from fans because of how much more grown up and meta it is. The main thing that stayed with me from my viewing experience was how much more legit Freddy was as a demon. The character design alone legitimized him as being more than the punchline the franchise turned him into. That version of the wall crawl k--- is intense.
Oct 31, 2016 I absolutely loved the redesign of freddy in new nightmare.. Wish there was more of it.. He looked bad a---..
Oct 31, 2016 Exactly. After part 3 Freddy became a clown instead of a scary monster/child murderer. Making Freddy a demon in NN was a great move.
Nov 11, 2016 I remember in part 5 he was dropping punchlines left and right. It almost turned into a full blown comedy. Part 6 was even worse about it, "now you're playing with power!" Oh God. But the sequels still served a purpose and delved a little deeper into Freddy's character and tied up some loose ends which was good. The sequels get a little too much s---. As far as horror sequels go they're pretty well done.
Nov 11, 2016 woof, tuff 1. halloween 2. nightmare 1 3. nightmare 2 (rly underrated extended gay metaphor) .... 4. the rest
