    Citizen Kane was innovative but it's not my favorite movie. Ryan? David Wallace?

    Okay, I was talking varying quality btw -- just to clarify, Seinfeld had a eh last season but nowhere near the office's low depths. That's the variety I meant -- not character types... which, again, isn't even true lol.

    Not agreeing with any of your points lol, especially the one implying I don't "get" what you're trying to say.

    Agreed, when BJ Novak was playing a real character, he was great. By the end he was a punchline, and his sendoff was AWFUL.

    j peterman was brilliant. i think you're thinking very narrowly about what it means for a comedy to be dynamic.

    @captain awesome
    You probably have a better formed opinion on Seinfeld given that you review TV shows or whatever. I'll concede whatever points you want. I still don't like Seinfeld more than The Office which how I approached this thread.

    A comedy should make me laugh. Seinfeld rarely did that.

    obviously seen seinfeld, but not enough to rank it properly. and never in its entirety which is how i like to watch a show before judging it. been meaning to do a full front to back watch soon though.

    also since bj novak was brought up, Ryan the absolute GOAT. i can remember times hes literally made me tear up from laughter

    oh and, im very unsettled by @CharlieWork dismissal of Curb.....curb is incredible in my opinion. one of my favorite shows of all time across any genre.

    I'm not saying it's bad? I just don't like it? I'm not trying to be the "EVERYTHING IS SUBJECTIVE" guy, but comedy especially is a very aqcuired taste. Curb is based around improvisation which I don't find as interesting as tight writing.

    I recognize Seinfeld's greatness? I have repeatedly?

    for sure but whats mind blowing is how tight the plots to curb turn out even with the improvisation. like the theme/concept is there for every episode, and the interactions are SO relatable/GOLD.

    larry david is the blissfully ignorant douche everyone wants to be. the kind thats actually in the right a lot of times, but would obviously filter himself irl.

    im sure that was already obvious too you, i just cant imagine you not appreciating it. you said comedy should make you laugh, and ive DIED laughing from curb

    oh and prime community should definitely be in the convo somewhere

    parks and rec had its moments too

    malcolm in the middle the underrated GOAT

    It really was a ballsy and one-of-a-kind comedy. That and Peep Show would probably be in my top 5.
