Jul 9, 2017 This is like saying sport X is harder to play than sport Y. Or comedy movies are more harder to make than action movies. There's no basis to this. Maybe not you specifically but that's what a lot of people tend to do. They group current rappers all together under "mumble rap" and just write them all off. It's weird.... it makes me wonder if the people who grew up on Afrika Bambaataa during the 70's did the same when NWA/2pac/Biggie came out.
Jul 9, 2017 but depending on the sport this can absolutely be true lmfao like, what the f--- are you on about m8 comparisons on the basis of difficulty can be made between lots of things really? so you're saying artists like Jazz Cartier or Vince Staples are in the same lane as other newer artists like Lil Yachty or Desiigner? that's bs, plain and simple. there's a pretty clear divide in terms of what's going on in every facet of their music. there's a really obvious reason why some people would prefer one of those styles completely over the other when it comes to new rap music, and it doesn't stop being a thing just because you stick your fingers in your ears and go "lalalala i can't hear you" there's a big f---ing discrepancy there, and if you can't see it, it's either because you're r-----ed or in denial. then idk why you're bringing it up you're not arguing with some1 else right now, you're arguing with me, and I don't do that, so it's irrelevant putting air quotes around that doesn't stop it from actually being a reasonable, and useful descriptor. now, whether or not it applies equally across the board is another thing entirely, but let's not act like there's not a difference between what could on average, be put under that umbrella, and stuff that couldn't. because there is lol and if you need help understanding that, look at the above example again.
