This album got me into gates, alot of his biggest singles are on this (out the mud, john gotti, i dont get tired) overall it's not the most cohesive project but it's still a solid tape. Almost every song is a b-----r, the production is great and he rapped his a--- off on this tape. I'd say after Islah this is his most accessible project to date.

That being said I do find this album the peak of Eminem's sinister wittiness that made him so d--- interesting. It's aptly titled Slim Shady because there were never any other clear-cut renditions of this alter ego done to perfection like this. Just really fun to listen to and see all the ways he uses irony and subtle references/humor to make you get a kick out of his lyrics. Lot of talent being displayed on this album that often takes a back seat to casuals and fans alike behind his more grand, deliberate and straightforward serious songs...and that is a shame.

8/10 eminems best album, some of the best lyricism ive ever seen but the subject matter really puts an asterisk on that. Im not a big fan of edgy eminem songs, but role model made me burst out laughing.

This was probably the most interesting we've seen Eminen rap. It's childish and wacky but there is a high level of focus when he does get personal. The production even kind of takes shape of Eminem's persona on here, Dre abandons some of his patented G-Funk to give SSLP it's dark sound. The content isn't for me but overall it's still a good piece of work that set up what I believe is his most seminal work in the MMLP.Ordinary Joel, DKC, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and 1 other person like this. -

For next page visibility: Because this is an Eminem album, I'm gonna require a few sentences at minimum for your rating to count in order to curb blind hatred/stanism. Can't believe I slept on this album for so long. I loved Mr. Scarface is Back when I was in high school and bumped My Block and Guess Who's Back (probably a top 25 favorite rap song) all the time, so it's strange I never checked out the full album til like 2012. I take this album in kinda the opposite way that @TimmyT does. I think it's proof that rappers can still make great (or in this case, classic) albums 10-15 years into their career (see: Jay Z's American Gangster, Big Boi's Sir Lucious Left Foot, Nas's Life is Good, Juicy J's Still Trippy, Pusha T's Darkest Before Dawn, Dr. Dre's Compton, etc.), rather than the exception to the rule. It has possibly the best Kanye beat that Kanye doesn't rap on of all time. It has Jay and Nas in prime form (and during their beef, no less, as Fire Squad mentioned)...yet, 'face is still the highlight throughout. It's undeniable proof that he's one of the greatest to ever do it.

I really don't feel like it's hyperbole giving The Fix a perfect score. It's engaging and is arguably among his best vocal performances (although you could say the same about most of Brad's catalog). The sound of the album is somber and nostalgic; it goes hand & hand with Scarface's striking narratives. It's crazy how it featured both Nas & Jay when they were still beefing.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Ordinary Joel, DKC and 1 other person like this. -

this was the first scarface album i heard. i was so impressed and it enjoyed it so much, that i decided to check out the rest of his albums and found out that this isn't the only good album of his
anyway, the album is good throughout, but my favorite track is What Can I Do with Kelly Price. it sounds like he's a preacher on that song lol, but its such an awesome track and kelly price is the perfect fit on this song. another thing i find impressive about this album is that scarface made it late in his career. generally speaking, rappers don't get better with age and they don't tend to make good albums once get they get older. but the fix is an exception to that.

9/10 - the album that took 2pac up another level, I was a fan of his earlier albums but Me Against The World is better by a fair margin.
I agree with you though, I started listening to 2pac early into my teens, one of the first rappers I've heard of and Me Against The World didn't appeal to me on first sight, but later grew on me. This album sticks to a theme with what 2pac knows the best and that is survival. It also has a few touching/sensitive tracks as well. Standout songs for me are If I Die 2Nite, Heavy In The Game, So Many Tears, Death Around the Corner and of course Dear Mama.... God there are so many good songs on this album.
It's my 2nd favourite 2pac album and a close 2nd as well. Highly rated album and deservedly so.Griff, Ordinary Joel, dkdnfbdjdkdddjdjfvcgfl and 1 other person like this. -

I'd give Pluto a 7/10
I like it, but unfortunately the only memorable part of the album is Snoop Dogg's verse on Homocide (?). There are several great songs, but the names aren't coming to me right now.
He's improved greatly since then.
Gonna give it another listen in an hour, so maybe my rating will change.Pablo, Ordinary Joel, dkdnfbdjdkdddjdjfvcgfl and 1 other person like this. -
