Forgot to give WTT a score, would've given it a 7/10.

The Cool on the other hand. Well this was legitimately the first hip-hop album I had on my laptop. So many great songs and Lupe was in his prime.

I love the mix of songs throughout the album. Songs that continue the MYH saga (Streets On Fire, The Coolest, Superstar, The Die, Put You On Game), the emotional songs (Intruder Alert, Hip Hop Saved My Life) and just great cuts like Gold Watch, Hi-Definition and Paris, Tokyo.

I love this album and I do indeed think it's better than F&L.

    8.7/10 for me.

    Imma give it an 8/10.

WTT could've easily ended up being a let-down due to overhype, but that didn't happen, it lived up to the expectations quality-wise, it's the best result you could've expected from a Ye x Jay collab. The album was just plain dope in every aspect, imo.

The only downsides i noticed, were that Ye & Jay, at times, had some d--- weak verses & some d--- weak lyrics. But for the most part, they delivered.

@Koolo I think it would clutter things if we did a thread per album...I like having it all organized in one place. We could give it its own sxn but that seem excessive.

btw @Besky @Bleed @apslim @Michael Myers @Bunk @Koolo your vote won't be counted if you don't write a blurb about the album. Doesn't have to be long, just a few sentences. Just tryina rustle up some discussion along with the ratings. :khaled2:

Kinda weird that you chose this album cause earlier today I was re-listening to some of the tracks that never clicked with me. Still don't enjoy those songs I initially disliked (Lift Off, New Day, That's My b----, Welcome To The Jungle, and Primetime). The rest of the songs are really solid imo. I know many people think of this album very highly but for me, it's a good album with solid replay-ability.

Do it! I'd still like to contribute when I can but I'm super down for you to take over for the time being. Maybe we could have a few people switch off to make sure it stays active.

@BigCountry feels like a big favor asking this but I'm willing to make this a more active thing if your willing to let me take over? I'd like to think I have a good grasp of the genre and even with limited activity I'd still try to keep this ongoing.

Firstly a huge thanks to @Charlie Strangelove for putting me on to this record. I've kept this in steady rotation since my first listen a couple of months ago since its just that good. Lil Herb is a remarkable rapper with a powerful voice & charisma that keeps you glued to your speakers and backed by excellent production he paints a vivid picture of the hostile environment in Chiraq. He's a breathe of fresh air in the competitive Chicago rap scene and if BLIK is any indication, he is only going to get better with time.

Similar career path as Cole imo, livelove was Rockys FNL, long live similar to sideline story, and ALLA a boring a--- sophomore attempt at a concept album like born sinner. Rocky will have a dope third album at this rate.

Crime Mob is mostly remembered for their big singles, two of the biggest in Knuck if you Buck and Stilletos (Pumps) are found on their eponymous debut. Coming out of Atlanta during the ringtone and white tee era it's kind of surprising that they're more comparable to a Memphis act like Three 6 Mafia. They've got the aggression and triplet flows which are unmistakable the few times you hear them over a darker beat on this record with Ellenwood Area & If You Got Ana.

The biggest mark against them is probably the lack of stand out personalities that people are used to with larger groups. There's really no Method Man here, which conversely means you don't have to endure a Cappadonna verse either. The dynamic is really about unity instead of clashing indiviualism. Layered vocals and frequent handing off of verses all contribute to the crowd vibe. It really feels like an organic group effort every time without competition and focus above all being maintaining a vibe. That's what this record has in droves.

It's an aggressive, momentous trip through songs that all sound like hit singles. Of course this era of singles meant hook heavy catch phrases, but the production side of things adds enough switch ups and instrument change ups to where the structure never becomes super monotonous. So while the group is rather one dimensional, the album is brisk enough to be an easy listen. Energizing and consistent are probably the most apt descriptors. A gym essential.

I was gonna say 9/10 to be fair, but since there's so many awful f---ing ratings, i'm going to bump it to a 10/10 rating to try and bump the average. The production from chop and rapping from cheif complements each other so f---ing perfect, there a duo on par with the likes of YG/Mustard or Dre/Snoop

This. s---. Is. f---ing. Fire. Chief Keef goes hard and reps Chicago with this piece of entertainment that while not art, comes pretty close. All of the songs are entertaining as s--- and it's a guilty pleasure that you can't get over. Not as good as his later releases and could use less producer tags but still, fire. I wonder what would happen if Chief Keef stayed with Interscope and didn't get blackballed by BET and appeared at the IE Music Festival. Probably be some good s---.
