Dec 9, 2018The production here is on another level. From party music, to laid back music, car/cruise music, this album has it all. How much influence did this have on future artists?? Big boy and andré are both great on this trying different flows and voice effects. One of the best albums ever made. 9/10

Lol. Worst album got the most reviews and ratings... Anyway, d--- is a classic. One of very few albums I listened to more than 3 4 times in 2017. Love this. My favorite Kendrick album. I used to bump this in the car a lot. Production is sick. Flows are great and almost Evey sing sounds like a dope a--- single. 9,5/10Ordinary Joel, Buddha and Sav Stanfield like this. -

d--- never really clicked for me. I guess the production isn't really my thing, and Kendrick's flows and writing aren't as intense as they once were to me. Some really good songs, but not so much replay value - again, just my opinion - while GKMC was just... front to back mesmerizing. For the record I'm even in the minority that thinks TPAB is a better album than d---.
I hadn't listened to it in months tbh, so I'm glad this thread made me dive in once again. But for me it's still a 6.5/10Ordinary Joel, Buddha and Sav Stanfield like this. -

Eminem's worst album. To be fair, I'll say it has a very few decent songs like "Walk On Water", "Believe", "Castle", "Arose", 2nd part of "Untouchable" or even "Offended" - that hook was awful tho, but the rest is just meh, it was kinda cool to hear a new album from Em back in 2017, but it was nothing special at all.
Awful hooks mixed Em trying to re-do Recovery with some political/conscious tone, generic pop-rap radio songs, Rick Rubin's lazy sampling mixed with Eminem spitting about imaginary women, just trying to be funny... Also Em still bitchin about Kim like he wanted to wake up with her p---- juice crust on his d-ck once again, idk, this album was and still is very overwhelming.
2,5/10 from me.
I forgive Eminem for dropping this, cause all the hate for this album caused Kamikaze, which is the best Eminem album since The Eminem Show, so we good.Buddha, Sav Stanfield and Ordinary Joel like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

This is literally one of the worst albums I've ever listened to. Even if this was Eminem's only bad album (which it obviously isn't), it's so bad that I'd be embarrassed to ever include this guy on any all time great list. Plenty of other great artists have released bad albums, but I don't think any have been this awful.
As nearly everyone mentioned, there's nothing remotely interesting or enjoyable about this record. the production is bland, the writing is uniformly awful....it feels like Em just cut and paste his verses on whatever generic beat he could find, slapped on some uninspired, vapid hook and called it a day.

While we had quite accustomed ourselves to Eminem's choppy and grunting flow since his last album, there was no way we could have prepared for Revival. The soulless album sinisterly sucks any joy out of the room it's being played in, while the once effortlessly funky Eminem now struggles to articulate exhausting syllables about various topics. The production has no cohesion and really no personality ; verses, hooks and beats sound so sad to be hooked together that they barely sound like actual songs. The rare exceptions (Framed, Castle/Arose) obviously get madly overrated since they are gems in the context, but they're really the poor man's 3 a.m and When I'm Gone. Rick Rubin went from cooking the decent Berzerk and the good Rhyme Or Reason on 2013's MMLP2 to some of the most lazy uses of sampling of all time - I never want to hear Heat or In Your Head in my life again.
Like every post-hiatus album, Revival is an inexplicable yet interesting thing to happen in Eminem's career. The complete lack of creativity and skills (and, really, musicality) involved, however, still makes it the least appealing body of work that Eminem has ever produced. On Relapse, Recovery and MMLP2, you had this fascinating and terribly frustrating sense that the music could have been very interesting had Eminem gotten better advice on some minor things... While there's nothing to save here.

Incredible really. Metro did his job providing beats that actually somehow sound scary, and Offset and 21 mix really well together. One of my fav projects from last year, unexpected as h---. Offset was at that time best Migo by far imo, and I always dig 21, not to even mention him on Metro beats. 8.5/10Sea Mauville, Sav Stanfield and Ordinary Joel like this. -
