@Sav Stanfield, I kept my word.
Since I can't really edit the previous thread yet, I finally decided to reopen the thread fresh. Welcome to Rate This Album V4. Time to break the albums.
PM me for nominations for an album for everyone to rate. Thanks!

10/10. Kanye's best album, simultaneously cohesive and disjointed, still one of my favorite front-to-back listens to this dayOrdinary Joel, Buddha, Enez and 2 others like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) - May 3, 2025

Album is fun and full of hits. Of course the forum with four Eminem threads on the front page doesn’t like it

Drake's Take Care

I remember exactly when this s--- dropped, Drake was surely reaching the top of the game with TC. Some features do kinda s--- here, except Ross obviously. s--- was mostly hits and several misses here and there. Is it a classic? Maybe, but it's undoubtedly a crowning moment for Drake.

UGK really came into their own on this one, the first two albums were great but Ridin’ Dirty took southern rap to new heights. p----’s production really took off and Bun stepped up his writing accordingly. A landmark in southern rap and rap in general, it’d be hard to justify rating this anything but 10/10Sign Language, Bananacliptheory, Fire Squad and 2 others like this. -

The most underrated Ice Cube album, obviously it’s not the first two albums, but it’s not far off. The rage that made AMW and DC so compelling is still there, the title track in particular was furious, and Ice Cube’s storytelling was as sharp as ever and he applied it to a wider range of topics than on his previous releases. The list of songs more iconic than It Was a Good Day only has like four things on it. 9/10 from me.Sav Stanfield, Fire Squad, Ricky and 2 others like this. -

Not as noteworthy of a successor to Death Certificate, but still a worthy follow up to one of the best East Coast albums. Cube gets less personal here, not sure if it's a good thing or not. Overall, it's a great project, definitely classic worthy, but not on the same level as his first albums.

I thought Blonde was a worthy but lesser follow-up to Channel Orange in the first month after it dropped, but it's done nothing but grow in my estimation in the years since. It's a beautiful, profoundly sad album that is the absolute best showcase of Frank Ocean as THE song writer of our time. 9.5/10

ah s--- I missed out on MBDTF. Its a 10/10. Perfect in every sense of the word.
As for Skepta, I was just recently listening to this in preparation for Ignorance Is Bliss. One of the first modern era grime/UK rap albums that really got me interested in the UK scene. It birthed legions of imitators and renwed interest in the careers of the legends. I still havent got as deep into UK rap as I would like to (Especially sine I live here now lol) but this album was definitly a turning point for the entire scene. Shutdown! 8/10.SliK, Ordinary Joel, Enez and 2 others like this.
