Why the f--- are we talking about Eminem in this topic?

My favorite Jay-Z album is a toss up between AG/RD/TBA, but I'd take MBDTF over all three by a hair.

    MBDTF for me

And I think that Reasonable Doubt is better than anything Pac or Biggie did

MBDTF, but close. I probably prefer Can I Live, Regrets and D'Evils over most of MBDTF though.
My favourite Jay album is American Gangster. Between AG and MBDTF.. it can change every day, both are one of my all time favourites

    MBDTF forever.
RD isn't my fave Jay album, that's either The Blueprint, The Black Album or MCHG

MBDTF for sure...The Blueprint is Jay's best album to me, it was a real game-changer when it dropped. Like most have said my personal favorite Jay album is The Black Album.

    Here I'll today's token Stan

These albums don't pack as many simple-to-grasp metaphors as I am used to and the rapper isn't putting on a silly voice half the time or switching between legitimste topics and psycho r--- songs so I dislike them

I only have a very narrow grasp on the rap genre as I exclusively listen to Eminem so his albums are all d--- near flawless and the fact that other artists aren't carbon copies of him a la Yelawolf makeeme hate them because I'm insecure that my favorite artist might actually be a lot worse than my mainstream top 40 tastes would lead me to believe

As would 70% of the forum it seems, but they're both classics regardless.

I feel like there were a few artists (Jay being one) back in the day who did it just as good if not better than Pac and Big but the didn't die and werent subsequently glorified by suburban white kids across America

mfw seventeen jay-z stans are 70% of your active userbase. congrats
no, not obviously. but I can see why someone who isn't white would view a twenty year old breakout album with barely a million in sales filled with racism, misogyny, mediocre storytelling, s--- rhyming and at least two dozen samples as an 'obvious classic'

I dont consider RD a classic, but it has amazing rhyming and storytelling (at least for it's time)

I do however consider the blueprint to be a classic, personally....
