    Graduated highschool around when this dropped. Good times to see Em on top again. Hasn't aged the best but was Ems best since Eminem show at the time

    I appreciate Recovery because for the most part it was the last time the guy was capable of making a good serious song(Talking To Myself, GTC- though admittedly he came through with GOF and Fine Line out of nowhere in 2014)

    Less than a year after Recovery he ended the most serious song on his EP with "I'm so done with this s--- I might as well wipe" and it's been all down hill ever since.


    Even "fun" songs like So Bad are light years better than the Juice World track he ruined on his last album. That song was f---ing terrible bit with So Bad it at least felt like Eminem made it. Same with No Love, CWB, Cinderella Man and even Almost Famous.

    I haven't listened to Recovery in probably over 5 years but I'll take that over anything he has put out since.

    The album came out in my peak stan days, so probably for nostalgia reasons it’s his 4th best to me. This and the first three records are the only ones I care to go back to

    I remember the moment it fully registered just how corny a lot of the album was when I was at a Mariners game about a year after it came out and someone's walk up song was "Not Afraid" and my friends and I all died laughing.

    Exactly, it really should’ve been a one time thing. He then should’ve ditched all the commercial s--- except for the 1st or 2nd single to get some numbers in later albums.

    I do actually enjoy the album but all Swizz's points here are correct.

    Eminem just copied Wayne's punchlines & used Paper Trail & Blueprint 3 style the 2 biggest hip hop albums of the previous years.

    Nothing organic about the album at all.

    Good point about So Bad. Definitely a forgettable song in itself, but the more relaxed flow is a lot easier to listen to compared with how he sounds now.

    Recovery has lots of problems, but it's highs>>>> anything since. He definitely sold out MASSIVELY with this though, it's the death of original Eminem.
