Dec 16, 2014 Recovery is easily his best album since his comeback. I think its still the best thing he's done since 8 Mile. It might be the most meaningful album of his career, which was pretty much dead in the water at that point. He seemed like a has been and a joke after Relapse. Recovery made him relevant again. He addressed so many issues on that album (his drug addiction and recovery, admitting he fell off, his life during his hiatus, Proof's death, leaving Kim again and all the frustration of that relationship). This was the first time since TES that we heard Eminem putting some fresh personal content in his music. Unfortunately by the time MMLP2 came out he once again didn't have anything too important to say, and we just got "a bunch of playful songs that he made for fun"
Dec 16, 2014 by 2010 I fully appreciated everything relapse and refill weren't and everything they were but first thought after hearing despicable on shade45 he sounds amazing, the crutch I mean accent is gone! he's finally comfortable on the mic again to be fair I also liked the softer throw it up flow he still kinda uses I feel hts and xv more than make up for any shortcomings people think mmlp2 might have
Dec 16, 2014 My rating of his albums.. SSLP 9/10 MMLP 10/10 TES 10/10 Encore 6/10 Relapse 3/10 Recovery 8/10 MMLP2 5/10
Dec 16, 2014 Maybe slightly. That's just my rating of the standard album though. If you include the bonus tracks I'd say it's at least a 6/10. I couldn't rank MMLP2 higher than Encore because Encore has several classic tracks and MMLP2 doesn't have any. MMLP2 is just just steadily average throughout.
Dec 16, 2014 legacy is a classic with the bonus tracks especially groundhog day it's a 7 minimum mmlp2 is not a classic encore is a classic these are all facts
Dec 16, 2014 When I heard Forever, Drop The World, Despicable, and Airplanes 2 in particular I knew he had turned a corner and Recovery was gonna be something special. I would definitely take HTS and Shady XV over Relapse and MMLP2 by the way.
Dec 16, 2014 Bad Guy is the only classic of MMLP 2 Brainless, GD, Legacy, Evil Twin, Beautiful Pain, etc are good track, but not classics. That said, MMLP 2 seems to me a more consistent and better as a whole than Recovery or Relapse.
Dec 16, 2014 Talkin To Myself, Going Through Changes, Not Afraid, Seduction, No Love, Space Bound, and 25 To Life are all better than any song on Relapse or MMLP2. Recovery also had the most successful single of his career on it (LTWYL).
Dec 16, 2014 if you mean you like 3 of the xv solo tracks, then you like a much higher percentage of the material
Dec 16, 2014 The only savable things in Shady XV are Fine Line -despite the horrible delivery- and the verse from Eminem in PK. The rest is horrible and cringeworthy.
Dec 16, 2014 deja vu has a much better story. opening up about the methadone is one of the realest things he's done. but the rhyming on that whole album is by design textbook as f--- legacy has only sixteen vowel sounds. it's one of the greatest rhymeschemes ever created. period. but it didn't tell me anything i didn't already know i won't say one is better than the other in this context because both songs are very personal to the artist and i feel it would be disrespectful
Dec 16, 2014 Legacy is one of the few songs on MMLP2 I really enjoyed (other than the pigs flying out of my a--- line). Beautiful > Deja Vu
Dec 16, 2014 yeah legacy has some tough to swallow punches but keep in mind they're all metaphors i don't normally rate my darling and beautiful with the rest of relapse because they're on another level frankly but deja vu, cwywf and music box are great too
Dec 16, 2014 I agree, best album since his comeback. There are a number of tracks I still enjoy listening to on a daily basis. Space Bound & Going Through Changes knock the s--- out of anything on Relapse & MMLP 2.
