Jan 13, 2015 Cold Wind Blows - 7/10 Talkin' 2 Myself - 8/10 On Fire - 5/10 Won't Back Down - 4/10 W.T.P. - 7/10 Going Through Changes - 9/10 Not Afraid - 7/10 Seduction - 8/10 No Love - 8/10 Space Bound - 9/10 Cinderella Man - 7/10 25 to Life - 7/10 So Bad - 6/10 Almost Famous - 6/10 Love The Way You Lie - 8/10 You're Never Over - 7/10 Untitled - 6/10 Ridaz - 7/10 Session One - 8/10
Jan 13, 2015 so you wanted a GTC 2? Em mentions and raps about proof in a negative way in that song so it wouldn't make sense having a song similar to that one. YNO is a motivational song and I think it is an important and relevant for recovery hence the title.
Jan 13, 2015 Never said I wanted a GTC 2 I said I wished the song had a darker vibe like GTC. Also, at what point does Em rap about Proof in a negative way?
Jan 13, 2015 Um.... thanks for stating the obvious? You're Never Over comes off as really corny though, it doesn't really sound genuine. Not to mention the bad hook and corny bars like the Ketchup line :s A tribute song with the same vibe/atmosphere as Difficult or even GTC as i said earlier, would of been much better.
Jan 13, 2015 as corny as some parts may be I can hear the emotion in Ems lyrics, it may not be as raw or as real as Difficult but its still an emotional song that matters
Jan 13, 2015 I'm sure that would be the case but I don't know I think it's good for what it is. Except for the beat and the hook which is very corny lol
Jan 13, 2015 It's not terrible but like I said, it being a tribute song it's really underwhelming. Especially considering that's the only song he's made about Proof entirely. Yeah he's mentioned him in other tracks but this is the only song he's really fully dedicated to proof and it's just kinda okay... @Michael Myers yeah it's alright but I mean.... I just kind of expected more considering this was his best friend, this was one of the reasons why he disappeared for so many years, to just get an alright song is kind of disappointing, ya know?
Jan 13, 2015 Yeah.. but hey it's Eminem so being disappointed by most of his music has become normal the last 11 years, unfortunately
Jan 13, 2015 The Cry Little Sister sample in YNO>>>>>>>>>>>>> Eminem should have worked with Just Blaze again on MMLP2 instead of that bum Rubin.
Jan 15, 2015 Cold Wind Blows - 7.5/10 Talkin 2 Myself - 7/10 On Fire - 5.5/10 Won't Back Down - 4.5/10 W.T.P. - 5/10 Going Through Changes - 10/10 Not Afraid - 5.5/10 Seduction - 8.5/10 No Love - 7/10 Spacebound - 8/10 So Bad - 7.5/10 Almost Famous - 6.5/10 Love the Way You Lie - 7/10 You're Never Over - 6/10 Untitled - 6/10 Ridaz - 7.5/10 Session One - 6.5/10
Jan 16, 2015 Looking at this tracklist it contains a lot of good songs. Great songs in fact but something about it just doesn't sit well with me. Just doesn't feel like an Eminem cd. Maybe its the fact that the amusing songs or whatever just feel poorly done a huge step down but the more serious songs are f---ing great.
Jan 16, 2015 True, it's labeled as bad by a lot especially on SL but looking at how people rate them it's decent, same as MMLP2. Relapse, Encore and HTS are worse except their high points
Jan 21, 2015 Recovery gets alot of hate, when I first heard it I loved it, then over played it. Other than not afriad or cinderella man, I never listened to the rest. I just finally relistened to it. Great album, I even liked white trash party this time around
Jan 21, 2015 Cold Wind Blows - 7.5/10 - Great intro for the time, exactly what I wanted Eminem to be in 2010 after 2 years of no emotion and accents. Talkin 2 Myself - 8.0/10 - Great introspective song and a great way to re-introduce Eminem. And I actually like the Kobe hook this time. (Die Alone is terrible) On Fire - 6.5/10 - Filler track about nothing. Only rated it so high because of the sick beat and the way he flows on it. Won't Back Down - 4.5/10 - Can't listen to this song. Didn't like it when I first heard it and I don't like it now. W.T.P. - 6.5/10 - Corny concept but it's actually an easy listen. Fun to listen to when you're tired of hearing Eminem moan and complain on every other track on this album. Just Shady being Shady. Going Through Changes - 9.5/10 - One of his most emotional songs ever. Easily the best song on this album, content-wise. Four verses each dealing with a major problem in his life during his hiatus. (Self Image, Proof, Drug Addiction, Ex-Wife, etc) Not Afraid - 8.0/10 - Not a song I still listen to at all, but definitely his best first single since Without Me. Eminem is fully re-introduced to the world at this point. Motivational song that still gets played at sporting events and stadiums. Seduction - 8.5/10 - Song is full of confidence. Love everything about it. Not a bad line in the whole song. No Love - 7.5/10 - Both verses are great, but Em's verse seems to drag out a bit towards the end. Spacebound - 9.0/10 - Didn't like this song at first, but the more I listened to it, the more I realized how deep it is. I had to fully understand the concept first before I could appreciate it. Love the hook and Em's bridge. 25 to Life - 8.0/10 Cinderella Man - 7.5/10 So Bad - 6.0/10 - Filler track once again. Not a bad song, but not good either. Almost Famous - 7.0/10 - Love the concept, don't love the execution. Way too much screaming. Becomes painful to listen to after a while. Content-wise it is good, tho. Love the Way You Lie - 7.0/10 - Eminem was officially back to being mainstream with this track. Not a bad song, but it got overplayed so I can never listen to it again. You're Never Over - 7.0/10 - Love the last verse, and love the concept. But Em's singing on the hook is one of the most painful listening experiences I've ever had. Can't listen to the song for that reason. (unless I skip the hooks) Average Rating: 7.3 (which is exactly what I would give Recovery as a whole)
