The only thing I'd bump from time to time from MMLP2 is Rap God.. The rest, very rarely

Recovery tho has more replay value and is the album that gave Eminem a lot of recognition back in 2010 even if it has that pop vibe to it

    I'd say MMLP2 is Eminem's worst album

Still mmlp2 but mostly because... its consistent. Its average overall. Recovery's lows are much worse, its highs are better.

Honestly a tie but for different reasons

It only takes mmlp2 deluxe to s--- over Recovery honestly and i love Recovery.

Not even talking about Bad Guy, Legacy, Rap God, Brainless. There's no competition.

Have to co-sign. I've said this before, but MMLP2 is a product of effort. I will give it to MMLP2 detractors that it depends a lot on its sequel status as a loose connecting theme, but it was a suitable point in his career to celebrate those call backs and those highlights of the time when he was pop culture's iconic villain. It satisfies not only that goal but also some of the most polished lyricism of his career, including Kamikaze.

Recovery stands out to me as a career second wind and will always be iconic for that. He was riding a rush of creativity on the tail end of the Relapse session and as a writer I know how exiciting that can be. It's impressive how good it is for how quickly it was written. But now we can also say that about MMLP and Kamikaze. I think Recovery exuberates the most confident Eminem and probably the happiest.

But between the two it comes down to a matter of preference and I think I'll always edge MMLP2 over Recovery because it has mind bending flows, super memorable highs and for me it shows a stronger attention to detail is which pays off in higher replay value. I honestly think its genuinely the most replayable behind Relapse and TES. Its impressive. Em from 08-13 was a machine and I think this gets overlooked a lot. Came out of rehab, hit the studio, does 200+ songs with Dre, finalized 2 albums tho one was condensed, goes STRAIGHT into the Recovery sessions and knocks them out of the park. That alone is a huge labor of artistry. And I know many consider the gap era between Recovery and MMLP2 to be the shouting punchline duck walk Marshall but BME wasn't bad and he spent his time well to give us MMLP2 which with bonus tracks is his longest album yet if you dont count Refill since it was repackaged months after release. That's a h--- of a hustle for an artist who could have easily retired in 2004. I'm drunk and not even on the original topic anymore. I guess I just wanted to emphasize how cool a feat it is with MMLP2 to craft a really strong album after you spent like 3 years straight dropping chart toppers and #1 singles and getting grammies to still chase that hunger.

Tbh this to me sort of cheapens the Kamikaze hype because Relapse Recovery MMLP2 may not be a SSLP MMLP TES caliber album run but to say you needed to make Revival to make Kamikaze after all that is just.. I dunno. I love Kamikaze but it's a project that puts making buzz over making art. And it's working. And that's cool. But since this thread is 3years old I just wanna put it on record that i like MMLP2 more than Kamikaze still. But ill give it time and see where this phase takes us. Who knows.
