Jul 4, 2015 I'd say uptrend, he makes dope hooks right now maybe some of the best he has ever made, is lyrically way better compared to Relapse. i can agree with the complaints about the flow but i don't care that much since i'm pretty sure it will be different on the next solo.
Jul 4, 2015 At this point in his career the only person that can be blamed for his awful material is Em himself
Jul 4, 2015 Disagreed. Eminem doesn't get out much, he doesn't have a sense of what people want today. It doesn't matter how young/old you are, or how skilled or talented you are, if you're isolated for too long you become out of touch. Proof was EVERYWHERE, he was Ems boy and could tell him straight up if some s--- was hot or not. The people who are around him now who profit in some way from being associated with him have an obligation to steer him in the right direction in all areas and they're not doing it.
Jul 4, 2015 I would say Eminem is at his best lyrically at the moment, but the flow is just not working out. Vegas, KNV has ben a improvement on is flow. I also would say MMLP2 could have been his best album after he came back if the songs were selected better
Jul 4, 2015 He's inconsistent is the thing. One minute he's great the next he puts out "All I Think About". And that's the real problem. From 99-03 he was consistently the greatest rapper alive. Fast forward 15 years and we still see signs of that brilliance but it's mixed with sub par songs.
Jul 4, 2015 For the record, MMLP2 has better songs then Recovery, but Recovery (Can't believe I'm saying this) was better made and more coherent. Because while I could believe Bad Guy, Rhyme Or Reason, Brainless, and Groundhog's day could be on an "MMLP2", no way in h--- would pre-hiatus Marshall let STIW, The Monster or Survival be on there.
Jul 4, 2015 Eminem said in multiple interviews that only part of Beautiful was written before he got sober.
Jul 4, 2015 Relapse was a lot better than Recovery and Recovery was a lot better than MMLP2 and MMLP2 was a lot better than XV and Southpaw.
Jul 4, 2015 I think at this point of his career, it really doesn't matter much where he's going with his music, whether he makes the type of songs we expect of him and the ones which we wanna hear more from him or the ones that are just ehh, he'll always be at the top of the game. He have done almost everything during his career & it's obvious now all he wants to do is just Rap and have fun with it. I could be wrong.
Jul 4, 2015 The birth of the Eminem we think is so hit and miss today was not on Relapse. Sure, the accents were annoying at times and the content was unnerving, but the beats were excellent, the hooks were classic Em and that flow was g.d. great. Then Recovery happened, and we got the song that started the true, downfall of Em. "Won't Back Down", pop feature, s-----y punchlines, bad mixing, and when he started working with the awful producer behind " Survival" and "Phenomenal"
Jul 4, 2015 Recovery has a lot of songs with replay value for me. The only song I still listen to from MMLP2 is Legacy
Jul 4, 2015 I think Alot of things could pass Recovery...it wasn't a great album and the reason why everyone loves it now, is because in retrospective, it was the more coherent work he released, aside from 3-4 garbage songs on there.
Jul 4, 2015 I think he has gone down a little bit since Relapse. His music is still enjoyable but I am getting tired of his faster rapping. It is executed well but it lacks a certain replay value that his songs with a slower flow have. If he could flow like he did on Relapse or The Reunion his music would be so much better.
Jul 4, 2015 Replay value doesn't mean s---. TPAB is a great album, on par with GKMC, but the replay value isn't as good as GKMC. Doesn't make it any less better though.
Jul 4, 2015 Recovery is his best album since his return, and he hasn't made a single song or album that has topped that, so I say he has gone down.
