Jul 4, 2015 sry for my bad english haha You right im 50/50 with his music now cause he got incredible/best lyrics but very bad production right now
Jul 4, 2015 All i think about have a good production and the relapse vibe KND have a solid production but great verses Phenomenal have a horrible production, s--- first verse and a discusting bridge.
Jul 4, 2015 Am I the only one who really likes both KND and All I Think About, better than anything on Shady XV to me. And if Dre is gonna be involved with his next project I'm gonna have expectations a little higher for once
Jul 4, 2015 Nah man im with you All i think about is the dopest s--- he recorded for a while and KND is also pretty sick
Jul 4, 2015 Relapse was his post hiatus peak imo. But it didn't do well commercially so I think the Interscope machine stepped in and started telling him what or what not to do.
Jul 4, 2015 His biggest problems right now are his flow/delivery, beat quality and lack of subject matter. Flow - He really REALLY needs to stop this this whole double time, stop/start flow that he raps with. His lyrics seem to be improving but his delivery makes his tracks so hard to listen to. Sure, some people admire the quick delivery and constant switching of flow on a technical level but it truly kills all re-playability of his music. The last track of his that I put onto my iPod was Fine Line. All other music since MMLP2 has been played a couple of times on my PC and just left to rot in my 'downloads' folder. Beats - He needs to get some Dre production back into his music. And he needs to STOP using DJ Khalil, Alex Da Kid and MrPorter beats. They are baseless, poorly mixed and hollow. It annoys me so much to see how he wasted an entire albums worth of great Dre production on Relapse with his stupid serial killer, silly accent phase. f---! Subject Matter - The reason Recovery is his best post hiatus album is because he actually had things to say. He was apologising to his fans for letting them down. He talked openly about his feelings for Kim and what happened during his near death experience. He had concept songs that were actually smart (25 to life = comparing rap to marriage and a life sentence. Spacebound = Comparing drug addiction to an abusive relationship). Headlights is the closest thing to some deep subject matter that we've had and it came in the form of a lyrically weak track. ("Hamburgers" and the whole "the stewardess told me to fasten my seat belt, I guess we're CRASHING!!!!??!!!!??!?!?!?!". Eurgh! Oh, and the video seemed more focused on promoting a Dodge instead of representing the sentiment of the track) (Honorable mention) Hooks - Female hooks are getting a bit boring now. Obviously we all got sick of the Skyler Grey hooks and he seems to have calmed down on those but now he seems to pull any female pop star onto a hook. Gwen Stefani, Rihanna x 3, Pink, Liz Rodriguez. Female hooks are okay but not on EVERY track. It also doesn't help that the beats a baseless pseudo rock beats that don't really fit with female vocals half the time. When I first heard Legacy I almost Stan'd the f--- out because it sounded awesome. Then I heard his verses just talking about school and how he dealt with bullies, all in this second hand tinny sound effect. I just thought: "For f--- sake. Decent hook wasted!". Imagine the song had him rapping about his entire career/legacy with a 'Sing for the moment' flow. It would've been an instant classic. Every song since MMLP2 has literally just been him rapping about how he's the best and he's never going to stop. That's okay and all for a few tracks but at this point he's not giving anyone any proof of how he is the best. Constantly telling people you're the best and assuring them that you a 'rap god' etc only works when you back it up frequently. If he said he WAS the best then I wouldn't complain because he was back in 1999-2003. Now? Not so much.
Jul 4, 2015 Give the guy an A for effort. Thats all you can really do at this point. At least he tries to push himself to his limit. Whether the outcome is good or bad depends on the person.
Jul 4, 2015 It's a good song, I love the singing part, wish there was more, he still has the choppy flow, the only problem I kind of have is the beat seems a bit high which made it hard for me to hear him on first listen, but after several listens I started to like it more and more, Gwen Stefani did great on the hook, no problem with her, over all it's a solid track, I'm going to stick with a 7 on this. Edit : Wrong thread, I thought this was the rank Kings Never Die thread, lol. Oh well.
Jul 5, 2015 He flowed so smooth on Same Song and Dance, Deja Vu and Beautiful amongst a couple others on relapse. Voice just rolls over and through the beat seamlessly. He screwed it up by having so little content . Insane, my mom, bagpipes, must be the ganja etc should have been left in the vault. 2 serial killer songs was plenty. The accent helped to ruin most of the album and take away from the timing of the delivery and how smooth it was. Delivery of recovery was horrific, I'D HAVE HAD MY a--- HANDED TO ME AND I KNEW IT, stop screaming at me. Again he got it right on a couple songs, some more content to the album but the delivery again shocking. GTC being one of the ones he got the balance on. BME was good for what it was. Punchlines were terrible, not unlistenable but not replayable in the slightest the double time delivery s----d too. MMLP2, Content was on point for the first time, accent gone, and all together not a bad album. The double time kinda hurt him a lot, so pointless, its not a f---ing race. KND was a bit of a shout and chop fest. Seemed to be pretty popular on here though. The first 3 albums are held in such high regard that he could release another classic quality album and everyone would disagree and say it s----d. 09-15 is not as bad as everyone else says either. He needs better delivery, slightly different sound even when hes sounded slick since comeback and some better beats. Relapse>MMLP2>Recovery>>>>XV>BME Three albums are much the same imo, I just ordered them based on which has most tracks I'd still play and by that count relapse is the best although probably has the worst songs of the three as well by a mile. The side projects were okay but not exactly great
Jul 5, 2015 I feel like Eminem has the potential to make great music like Kings Never Die (and i like Phenomenal even tho alot of people dont) but he continues to make songs like All i think about and i dont know why ? yeh we get it he can rhyme alot of syllables, great, but he must know that like every one except his friends think he makes horrible music, hopefully he will see the positive reception that KND gets and continue to makes similar music
Jul 5, 2015 KND worked its way into my top 5 Eminem songs of all time. It sounds like it belongs on TES and could easily replace some of the filler songs on that album (White America, Square Dance, Sing For The Moment) If Em made a whole cd of KND/Guts Over Fear/Phenomenal type songs, it'd be miles ahead of GKMC & MBDTF and almost as legendary as TPAB. Em the GOAT.
Jul 5, 2015 @Koolo Well Relapse didn't really set the bar high for judgement.. Even the album he released 5 years before that was much better than Relapse and we know what Encore really could of been without the leaks. Since 2012 I feel Em started the "choppy" or "stop and go" flow with this track. Sadly he hasn't improved upon this verse and I'm not sure he's had to many better verses since 2012 tbh. If Eminem could put the content together with proper flow and delivery throughhout a whole project, there's no doubt he can easily put out a better Lp than MMLP2.
