Eminem Review - “Eminem - Blown Away”

    This is a song called Blown Away. This is the oldest known recording of Eminem - then M&M, summer 1988. This is a really nice song to listen to. The storytelling is absurdly decadent, right alongside As The World Turns and The Reunion. He’s effortlessly rhyming 4-5 syllables. He rides the beat like a f---in boss. There’s even the trademark Shady wit and attitude we’d find a decade later on tracks like Infinite’s Backstabber and The Slim Shady EP. Beat is really good also. Hella nice track.

    Actually, this track is from '89. His actual first song ever was Take 87 And A Half which was October of '88

    blown away and take 87.5 are both part of the new jacks ep, available 4/20/88. the year is clearly shown on the right. blown away is the earlier recording. he’s literally only first learning to write to and follow a beat loop. take 87.5 is a much more complicated track, and a freestyle, likely recorded weeks later. maybe you could say he learned to freestyle first then learned to do “tracks” like blown away, but how would you even know this lol

    how nice. i’m friends with em. met him right here on rb in 02. but he doesn’t talk about these tracks, like ever, so piecing together the details is kinda on me lol. i managed to save the flac copies of the bassmint tracks in 2015 while they were being posted. thank you for the clarification
